HLL Pharmacist Recruitment 2026: Overview

HLL Lifecare Limited (HLL), a Mini Ratna public sector company under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is hiring Pharmacists and Assistant Pharmacists for its Retail Business Division (RBD) in West Bengal. The people selected will run the AMRIT Pharmacies that HLL has set up inside government district hospitals and government medical colleges across the state.

This is a fixed-term contract job, not a permanent PSU post, and selection happens through a walk-in held at three venues in Nadia, Bardhaman and Kolkata. Freshers with a pharmacy diploma or degree can try for the entry-level post, while experienced retail pharmacists can aim for one of the four graded posts.

Posts and Disciplines

• Assistant Pharmacist: the entry-level role and the only one open to freshers who have just finished a D.Pharm or B.Pharm.
• Pharmacist Grade IV: the first graded post, for pharmacists who already have some retail pharmacy experience after qualifying.
• Pharmacist Grade III: a mid-level counter post for pharmacists with a longer retail track record.
• Pharmacist Grade II: a senior post that asks for several years of hands-on retail pharmacy work.
• Pharmacist Grade I: the most senior grade in this drive, meant for veteran retail pharmacists.

Every grade asks for the same basic degree — D.Pharm or B.Pharm. What separates the grades is how long you have worked in retail pharmacy after qualifying, so pick the grade that matches your experience. Your experience is counted up to the same cut-off date that HLL uses for age.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Pharmacy council registration: You must hold a West Bengal State Pharmacy Council registration certificate, because HLL needs it to get the drug licence for each outlet.
• Contract job: The appointment is on a Fixed Tenure Contract; the notice does not state the contract length or the pay.
• Place of posting: The proposed posting can change with business needs, and HLL management decides your final outlet.
• Open vacancy count: The notice gives no fixed number of posts; HLL may raise or cut the count, or choose not to fill any post.
• Screening at the venue: Only candidates with the relevant qualification and experience are allowed to sit the written test.
• Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.
• Original certificates: If you cannot show your originals, including the original community certificate for SC, ST and OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates, you will not be allowed into the selection test.
• Canvassing: Any form of canvassing leads to disqualification, and the management's decision on selection is final.

There is no online form. The HLL careers page carries a blank application format; fill it in and carry it to the walk-in with your original certificates and a set of self-attested copies. Registration is open only from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on each day, so reach the venue early.
