The Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB) has released Advertisement No. 07/2026-27 for direct recruitment of Junior Pharmacist Class-III posts. These posts are for district panchayats across Gujarat under the Panchayat department. Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You need a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D), or Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised university or institution.
  • Computer knowledge: You must have basic computer knowledge as required under Gujarat Civil Services rules.
  • Language: You must have adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
  • Pharmacy registration: If appointed by direct selection, you must be registered with the Gujarat Pharmacy Council under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, at the time of application if not already registered.
  • Cut-off date: Education and other required qualifications are counted as on 20 May 2026.

Age Limit

  • You should be at least 18 years old and not more than 35 years old as on 20 May 2026.
  • Reserved category male candidates: 5 years relaxation.
  • Women candidates: 5 years relaxation for General women and 10 years for reserved category women.
  • PwD candidates: Relaxation ranges from 10 to 20 years depending on category and gender.
  • Ex-Servicemen: Service period plus 3 years relaxation, subject to the notified rules.
  • Maximum relaxed age: The age after relaxation should not be more than 45 years.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a fixed salary of Rs. 40,800 per month for the first 5 years.
  • After 5 years, if service is satisfactory, the candidate can move to the regular pay scale as per Government of Gujarat rules.
  • Other benefits will be given as per the Finance Department resolutions mentioned in the notification.

  • General category: Rs. 100 plus service charge through SBI ePay.
  • SC / ST / SEBC / EWS / PwD / Ex-Servicemen: No application fee.
  • Payment mode: Online through Debit Card, UPI, Internet Banking, NEFT or Credit Card.
  • Fee deadline: The online fee must be paid by 20 May 2026 by 11:59 PM.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on a preliminary objective exam conducted through OMR or CBRT, followed by further process as per GPSSB rules.

  1. Preliminary Exam: One objective MCQ paper for 200 marks and 3 hours.
  2. Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  3. Provisional Result: GPSSB will publish the provisional result and merit list after the exam.
  4. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must show original certificates and documents.
  5. Final Recommendation: Final select list and recommendation list will be prepared as per rules.

  • Handle medicine dispensing and pharmacy support in the assigned panchayat health facility
  • Maintain stock registers, issue records and medicine inventory details
  • Check prescriptions and support safe supply of medicines to patients
  • Follow storage rules for medicines, vaccines and other pharmacy items
  • Assist medical officers and health staff with drug availability and records
  • Prepare reports required by district panchayat and health department offices
  • Follow Gujarat Pharmacy Council and government service rules during duty

Exam Pattern
