Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), located in Guwahati, has released a notification for 1 Pharmacist post under the National Anti-microbial Resistance Surveillance Network Programme run by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), based in the Department of Microbiology. This is a purely contractual and temporary engagement and does not give you any claim to permanent government employment. If you are a Diploma in Pharmacy holder looking to gain hands-on experience in a government medical college hospital, this is a good short-term opportunity.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed 12th in Science and hold a Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution or Board.
• Preferred: Experience in dispensing or storing drugs at a hospital, institution, drug store or pharmaceutical concern is desirable, though not mandatory.
• Preferred: A computer certificate from a recognised institution will count in your favour.

Age Limit

• You should not be more than 40 years old.

Salary

• The selected candidate will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 25,000 per month.
• Since this is a contractual post, no separate allowances (DA/HRA) are mentioned in the notification.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Shortlisting: Shortlisted candidates and their interview schedule will be uploaded on 24 August 2026.
2. Written Test and Viva: Held together on 31 August 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Department of Microbiology, 5th Floor, Narakasur Hilltop, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.

How to Apply

1. Download the prescribed application format from the official advertisement at gmch.assam.gov.in.
2. Fill in the application form completely and self-attest it.
3. Attach self-attested photocopies of mark sheets, educational certificates, experience documents and other relevant documents from Class X onwards.
4. Superscribe the envelope with "Applied for the post of Pharmacist, National AMR Programme".
5. Send the completed application to the Nodal Officer, National Anti-microbial Resistance Surveillance Network Programme, Department of Microbiology, 5th Floor, Narakasur Hilltop, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, before 18 August 2026, 4:00 PM.

Incomplete applications or applications not submitted in the prescribed format will be rejected.
