The District Collectorate of Ganjam, Chhatrapur (Odisha) has issued advertisement number 1076 dated 19.04.2026 (district reference) for temporary engagement of 5 Motor Launch Drivers and 5 Boat Khalasis under the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC). The engagement is purely temporary and valid up to 30 November 2026 to handle flood relief duties. Who Can Apply?

For Motor Launch Driver (5 Posts):

• You must have a minimum Second Class Launch Driver Licence issued by the Directorate of Inland Water Transport, Odisha.
• You must clear the Motor Launch driving skill test conducted by the recruiting authority.
• Candidates with experience in the State Port Engineering Organization (SPEO) will get preference.

For Boat Khalasi (5 Posts):

• You must have a Mariner Training Certificate from a recognized mariner training institute.
• You must be physically fit and able to swim 100 metres in 20 minutes in a river, canal, or any flowing water body.
• You must clear the skill test conducted by the State Port Authority / Officials of the Marine Force.

Common Requirements:

• You must produce a health fitness certificate from a Government Doctor before joining duty.
• In case of any accident, the candidate will be personally responsible for any injury or health damage during work.

Salary

• Motor Launch Driver: Rs. 17,200 per month
• Boat Khalasi: Rs. 12,300 per month
• No other allowances will be paid - this is a consolidated temporary engagement.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on skill test only:

1. Document Verification: On 30 May 2026 at 11:00 a.m., the Collector will verify all submitted applications and shortlisted candidates will be called for the skill test.
2. Skill Test: Held the same day at 3:30 p.m., conducted by officials from the State Port Authority / Marine Force.
3. Health Certificate: Before joining, you must submit a government doctor's fitness certificate.
