Who Can Apply

You can apply if you meet all of the following conditions:

• You must be a citizen of India.
• You must be a person of eminence in the field of Food Science, or a person from Administration who has been associated with the subject of food safety or regulation.
• You must hold or have held a rank not below Secretary to the Government of India.
• Your age must not exceed 65 years at the time of appointment.
• Experience with Central or State Regulatory Bodies is desirable.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 65 years

Salary

• Fixed Pay: Rs. 2,25,000 per month
• Allowances: As per Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) guidelines

Tenure

• The appointment is for a period of 3 years.
• The Chairperson is eligible for reappointment for a further period of 3 years, subject to a maximum age of 65 years.

Selection Process

There is no written exam or skill test for this post. The selection will be done through the following steps:

1. Review by a Search-cum-Selection Committee
2. Final approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC)
