ESIC Bhubaneswar Faculty Recruitment 2026: Overview

Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is running a walk-in at ESIC Medical College and Hospital (MCH), Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar (Odisha) under Advertisement No. 02 of 2026. The college needs Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors for its teaching departments, plus Senior Residents for patient care, all on contract. Faculty and Senior Residents are interviewed on separate days, and document verification happens the same morning before the interview.

Eligibility follows the National Medical Commission (NMC) minimum standard requirements notified in the Gazette of 30 June 2025, so check the teacher qualification rules for your department before you travel. Working and retired professors can also apply for the posts they are eligible for.

Posts and Disciplines

• Professor: Biochemistry, Microbiology, General Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Community Medicine, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and Forensic Medicine.
• Associate Professor: Anaesthesiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Paediatrics, Radiology, Psychiatry, Community Medicine, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and Forensic Medicine.
• Assistant Professor: Anaesthesiology, Microbiology, Chest (Pulmonary Medicine), Dermatology, Ophthalmology, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Radiology, General Surgery, Psychiatry, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and Forensic Medicine.
• Senior Resident: spread across clinical, para-clinical and non-clinical departments, with Anaesthesiology, General Medicine and General Surgery taking the biggest share. The age cut-off is lower for clinical SRs than for non-clinical and para-clinical SRs.
• Dental: listed in the advertisement but carries no vacancy in this round.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Faculty tenure: One year at first, extendable by two more years on satisfactory annual performance. The contract ends earlier if a regular faculty member joins or you turn 70.
• Senior Resident tenure: One year, extendable up to three years in total. It ends if a regular SR joins or you reach 50.
• No deputation: ESIC MCH Bhubaneswar does not take candidates on deputation. Government employees must bring a NOC to the interview and, if selected, resign and submit a relieving letter before joining.
• Private practice: Not allowed in any form after joining.
• Medical registration: Your NMC/State Medical Council registration must cover all your MBBS and PG qualifications. If it is not updated yet, show proof that you have applied; the updated certificate is compulsory before joining.
• Resignation: Give one month's notice or pay one month's salary; otherwise the security deposit is forfeited and legal action may follow.
• Attendance: Faculty mark attendance both manually and on the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS). Absence beyond seven days without approval counts as abandoning the job.
• No service benefits: There is no PF, pension, gratuity, medical allowance, seniority or promotion.
• Housing: Hostel or quarters are given where possible; if you take them, HRA stops and licence fee is deducted.
• Allowances note: Non-medical officers are not entitled to NPA; medical officers also get transport allowance with DA as per rules.
• PwBD reservation: If PwBD candidates are not available, the posts are filled from the interview panel and the PwBD reservation is carried forward.
• Vacancies: Provisional, and may rise or fall with teaching and patient-care needs. No TA/DA is paid for the interview.

Application Submission Notes

Fill the Google Form given in the notice before your interview day. On the day, bring a printout of the offline application form attached to the advertisement, your documents as per the checklist, and the demand draft in favour of "ESI Fund A/c No. 1", payable at Bhubaneswar.

Report to the Office of the Dean, ESIC MCH, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar (near Hotel Mayfair). Anyone who arrives after 10:00 AM is marked absent. Applying for more than one post? Submit a separate form, document set and fee for each one.

Results appear on esic.gov.in and mchbhubaneswar.esic.gov.in, and offer letters go out by email only. Any corrigendum will be posted only on the ESIC website.
