EPFO has released notification for 2674 Social Security Assistant (SSA) posts under the Ministry of Labour & Employment. EPFO Social Security Assistant (SSA) Recruitment 2026 - 2674 Posts

Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has released notification for 2674 Social Security Assistant posts across all its regional offices in India. This is one of the largest recruitment drives by EPFO for Group C positions, covering all states and union territories with region-wise vacancy allocation. The exam is now conducted through IBPS, bringing a streamlined selection process. If you are a graduate with basic computer and typing skills, this is an excellent opportunity to join one of India's most important social security organizations.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university as on the closing date of application.
• Typing Speed: You need a typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on a computer. This is equivalent to 10,500 KDPH (English) or 9,000 KDPH (Hindi) based on 5 key depressions per word.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer operations is required.
• Those awaiting final results of the prescribed qualification should not apply.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 27 years old as on the closing date of application.
• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (up to 32 years)
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation (up to 30 years)
• PwBD + General: 10 years relaxation (up to 37 years)
• PwBD + OBC: 13 years relaxation (up to 40 years)
• PwBD + SC/ST: 15 years relaxation (up to 42 years)
• Government Servants: Up to 40 years (as per Central Government rules)
• Ex-Servicemen (General): 3 years relaxation
• Ex-Servicemen + OBC: 6 years relaxation (3+3)
• Ex-Servicemen + SC/ST: 8 years relaxation (3+5)

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 per month under Level 5 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) and other allowances as per Central Government rules.
• Your total in-hand salary at the starting level will be approximately Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 45,000 per month depending on the city of posting.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Phase-I: Computer Based Examination (CBE): This is the main exam with 150 objective questions carrying 600 marks. You will get 2 hours 30 minutes to complete it. Each question carries 4 marks with negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. Your Phase-I marks will count toward the final merit list. Candidates are shortlisted for Phase-II in the ratio of 1:10 (10 times the vacancies per category).
2. Phase-II: Computer Skill Test (Data Entry): This is a qualifying test where you need to demonstrate a typing speed of 35 wpm in English or 30 wpm in Hindi. The time allowed is 10 minutes. Marks obtained in this test will not count for merit ranking — you just need to pass it.

• Handle file processing and maintain records related to EPF, EPS, and EDLI schemes
• Assist in processing provident fund claims, pension settlements, and transfer requests
• Enter data into EPFO's computerized systems and maintain accurate digital records
• Respond to member queries related to PF balance, withdrawals, and account transfers
• Prepare reports, correspondence, and official documents as directed by supervisors
• Work with the Section Supervisor to ensure timely settlement of claims
• Assist in conducting compliance inspections of establishments covered under the EPF Act
