BBMB Lineman Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview

Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) is taking Lineman trade apprentices for one year of training at its Construction Division, Dhulkote (Ambala City), Haryana. The seats are offered under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 for the 2026-27 session, and the whole process runs through the government's National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal. There is no written exam and no interview — you are picked purely on your 10th and ITI marks, which makes this a good chance for fresh ITI Lineman pass-outs to get hands-on work at a large power and irrigation board.

This is an apprenticeship, not a regular job. You get a training contract for one year, and BBMB issues the contracts in stages as seats open up, using a merit list that stays valid until 28 February 2027.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Local preference: 25% of the seats go first to candidates holding a residence certificate of the districts where the grid sub-station is located. If those seats stay empty, they pass to residents of that state, and any seats still left are filled on open merit.
• Merit weightage: your 10th class marks carry 30% and your ITI Lineman marks carry 70% of the merit score.
• Tie-break: if two candidates have equal marks, the older candidate is preferred; if the birth dates also match, the one who passed the 10th exam earlier goes first.
• Results awaited: candidates whose qualifying results are still pending on the last date will not be considered.
• Previous apprentices: anyone who has already done or is doing apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act at any establishment cannot apply.
• Place of training: you can be deployed anywhere under the Construction Division, BBMB Dhulkote, as the work needs; requests for a specific place are generally not considered.
• Age and reservation: both follow the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and its amendments; the notice gives no separate figures.
• Aadhaar: an Aadhaar card is compulsory for the online registration on the portal.

Applications are accepted only online on the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in); no other mode is accepted. Register on the portal, then look for the BBMB Dhulkote Lineman seats and apply.

Note: the notice gives two different closing dates — 7 December 2026 in the opening paragraph and 3 December 2026 in the application clause. To be safe, complete your application by the earlier date.
