DIAT Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), a Deemed University under DRDO, Ministry of Defence, has released advertisement 09-2026/PA/DIAT for 1 Project Assistant / Lab Assistant position. The candidate will work under a DRDO-sponsored research project titled "Comprehensive Study to determine the best possible architecture for a System-on-Chip (SoC) for secure storage device based on trade-offs between cost, complexity, performance, fabrication feasibility, and development effort". Freshers with B.Tech or M.Sc in Electronics/Physics can apply — even M.Tech 2nd year students are eligible.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification (any one):
• B.Tech / M.Tech / M.Tech 2nd year studying in Electronics / E&TC / EEE / Instrumentation Engineering
• OR M.Sc / B.Sc / Integrated degree or equivalent in Electronics / Physics / Applied Physics / Electronics Science
• Qualifications must be obtained from recognised Universities / Institutions / Industries

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 28 years
• Crucial date for age: 12 June 2026
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, Women & PwD candidates; 3 years for OBC (NC) / EBW candidates

Salary (Stipend)

• Monthly Stipend: Rs. 20,000 per month (consolidated)
• Medical facilities limited to MI Room facilities at DIAT
• No TA/DA paid for attending the interview

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on:

1. Screening of Applications: Based on suitability for the project, the Principal Investigator may restrict the number of candidates called for interview
2. Interview: Mode of interview will be in-person at DIAT Pune OR via video conferencing, whichever is suitable to DIAT. Shortlisted candidates will be individually informed via email.
3. Document Verification: Candidates must bring original applications with all educational certificates, project reports and publications at the time of interview

Mere possession of minimum qualification does not entitle a candidate to be considered at every stage of selection.
