The Office of the Civil Surgeon cum Chief Medical Officer, Dhanbad has issued a press notification (Ref: Departmental Letter No. 58(21) dated 11.04.2025) inviting Expression of Interest from qualified doctors to serve as Consultants at government hospitals across Jharkhand, specifically at Sadar Hospital Dhanbad. This is a rolling recruitment — the panel stays open continuously, and you can apply at any time. The goal is to improve healthcare delivery under the Indian Public Health standards and maximize Ayushman Bharat claim processing.

• Medicine — Specialist/Super-specialist Consultant
• Urology — Specialist/Super-specialist Consultant
• Microbiology — Specialist/Super-specialist Consultant

The exact number of vacancies is not fixed. A panel of eligible doctors will be formed, and hospitals will draw from this panel based on their needs.

Who Can Apply?

Duty Doctor / Medical Officer

• Qualification: MBBS from a recognized university

Specialist Consultant

• Qualification: MBBS + MD / MS / DNB (in the relevant specialty)

Super-specialist Consultant

• Qualification: MBBS + MD/MS + DM / MCH / DNB (Super-specialty)

Important: Doctors currently working in government service are not eligible to apply for these positions.

Salary

• Base salary: Rs 60,000 per month (consolidated) for all categories — Super-specialist, Specialist, and Medical Officer
• Per-patient incentive (Specialist): Rs 300 per patient
• Per-patient incentive (Super-specialist): Rs 500 per patient
• Maximum monthly earning: Rs 4,00,000 (four lakh) per month — this is the upper cap including base salary and all incentives

The salary structure is set by the State Government and may be revised from time to time.

• No application fee — this is a walk-in interview process with no charges

Selection Process

1. Walk-in Interview — The selection committee will conduct interviews at the Deputy Commissioner's Office, Dhanbad
2. Panel Formation — Eligible doctors will be empanelled based on qualifications and interview performance
3. Hospital Assignment — Hospitals will draw doctors from the panel as per their requirements
4. Performance Review — Your performance will be reviewed periodically. If found unsatisfactory, you may be removed from the panel

Note: This is a rolling process. Walk-in interviews are held on the first Wednesday of every month at 12:30 PM. If that Wednesday is a holiday, the interview moves to the next working day.
