About This Job

The National Health Authority (NHA) has released a vacancy circular for filling 12 posts of Deputy Director, Assistant Director, and Assistant Section Officer on deputation basis (including short-term contract). NHA is an attached office of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and is responsible for implementing Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). Who Can Apply?

This recruitment is open only to serving government officers. You must currently be working in one of the following:

  • Central Government or State Government departments
  • Union Territory Administration
  • Recognized Universities and Research Institutions
  • Autonomous Bodies and Statutory Organisations
  • Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)

You need to hold a regular post in the relevant pay level or equivalent with the required number of years of experience. For Deputy Director posts, you should be holding a post in Level-8 or equivalent with adequate experience. For Assistant Director posts, you need to be in Level-7 or equivalent. For ASO posts, you should be in Level-6 or equivalent.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 56 years as on the closing date of application (as per DoPT guidelines for deputation)

Salary

  • Deputy Director (Level-11): Rs. 67,700 - 2,08,700 per month (basic pay)
  • Assistant Director (Level-8): Rs. 47,600 - 1,51,000 per month (basic pay)
  • Assistant Section Officer (Level-7): Rs. 44,900 - 1,42,400 per month (basic pay)

In addition to basic pay, you will get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and other admissible allowances as per Central Government rules. Since the posting is in New Delhi (X-class city), HRA is 27% of basic pay.

Responsibilities

  • Handle administrative, financial, or technical functions related to the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) as assigned
  • Manage policy implementation, coordination with stakeholders, and programme monitoring in the respective division
  • Prepare reports, proposals, and policy documents for senior management and the Ministry
  • Assist in budget planning, expenditure monitoring, and financial compliance for ABDM projects
  • Work with technology teams on digital health platform development, health informatics standards, and IT infrastructure
  • Follow government rules, financial regulations, and audit requirements in all official dealings
  • Monitor progress of ABDM adoption across states and coordinate with state health authorities

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Officers holding regular post in relevant pay level under Central/State Government, UT, PSU, Autonomous Bodies with required experience

Preferred Qualification

Experience in health administration, digital health, health informatics, finance, or IT-related government projects

Required Skills

Administrative skills, knowledge of government rules and procedures, domain expertise in relevant division (Admin/Finance/Technical)
