Jawaharlal Nehru University Faculty Recruitment 2026 - 122 Posts

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi has released Advertisement No. RC/75/2026 for regular faculty positions in different Schools, Special Centres and Centres. The recruitment is open to Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs). Selection is based on shortlisting and interview, with eligibility and pay levels following UGC Regulations 2018 and later amendments.

Who Can Apply?

Professor - Academic Pay Level 14

• You need a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
• You should have at least 10 research publications in peer-reviewed, Scopus/Web of Science or JNU Academic Index listed journals.
• You need a total research score of 120 as per UGC Regulations 2018.
• You should have at least 10 years of teaching/research experience with evidence of guiding doctoral candidates, or be an outstanding professional with equivalent contribution and 10 years of experience.

Associate Professor - Academic Pay Level 13A

• You need a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
• You need a Master's degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
• You should have at least 8 years of teaching/research experience, at least 7 publications and a research score of 75.

Assistant Professor - Academic Pay Level 10

• You need a Master's degree with 55% marks in the concerned/relevant/allied subject.
• You must have cleared NET/CSIR NET/SLET/SET, unless you are exempted through Ph.D. rules mentioned in the notification.
• Ph.D. from a recognised foreign university in the top 500 world ranking route is also covered as per UGC rules.

Relaxation in Marks

• 5% relaxation at Bachelor's/Master's level is allowed for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD candidates.
• 5% relaxation from 55% to 50% is allowed for Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master's degree before 19 September 1991.

Salary

• Professor: Academic Pay Level-14, Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200 per month.
• Associate Professor: Academic Pay Level-13A, Rs. 1,31,400 to Rs. 2,17,100 per month.
• Assistant Professor: Academic Pay Level-10, Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400 per month.
• Allowances are paid as per applicable UGC/Central University rules.

• SC / ST / PwD / Women: No fee
• The fee is non-refundable.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

JNU has not notified a written examination for these faculty posts. Selection is based on screening, shortlisting and interview:

1. Application Scrutiny: JNU checks your online form, documents, qualifications, experience, publications and claimed research score.
2. Shortlisting: If many applications are received, the University may shortlist candidates using higher qualifications, experience and research record.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called by email. The University may conduct the interview in online mode, offline mode or both.
4. Document Verification: Original certificates, caste/PwD certificate, publications, NOC and experience proofs are verified before appointment.
