Directorate of Public Instruction, Chhattisgarh (CG DPI) is recruiting teaching and non-teaching staff for Swami Atmanand Government Excellence English Medium Schools (SAGES) across the state. The drive brings subject teaching, school leadership and academic support appointments together under one contractual recruitment notice. Your appointment would be through the relevant district school management and operating committee.

Posts and Disciplines

• Lecturers: Subject-specific positions cover Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Geography, Economics, History, Political Science, Social Science, Mathematics, Biology, Commerce, Chemistry and Physics.
• Primary and middle school headmasters: These are separate school leadership categories, identified by the level of the school.
• Assistant Teachers: This is the primary-level teaching category in the common recruitment.
• Teachers: The subject groups are Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Social Science, Science and Mathematics. You should match your intended teaching subject to the relevant category in the notice.
• Physical Education Teachers: These positions form a separate category from the academic subject teachers.
• Computer Teachers: Computer education is listed separately from the other subject groups.
• Librarians and Laboratory Assistants: These are distinct academic support categories within the same school recruitment. The notice identifies them separately from classroom teaching appointments.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial contract: Appointments are for 1 year. Renewal depends on an assessment of your work and recommendations from the principal and committee, including the confidential report.
• Ending the contract: Either side may end the arrangement with 3 months of notice or pay in its place. The committee may end service without advance notice when the contract period finishes.
• Regular appointments: A contract does not create a right to regularisation. If the government fills the post through regular recruitment, the contractual appointment ends.
• Existing SAGES staff: Contract teaching staff already working in these schools may apply for a higher post, but cannot apply again for the same post. You must provide the prescribed declaration when asked.
• District reservation: The district-wise roster in Annexure A applies. The notice provides horizontal reservation for women and reservation provisions for persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen under the applicable rules.
• Service rules: State contractual appointment, conduct and leave rules apply to the engagement. The committee’s operating instructions also govern work in the school.
• Recruitment caveats: Advertised positions may change, and appointments remain subject to the Supreme Court’s final decision in the case identified in the notification.
