The Additional Project Director, GSACS Ahmedabad has released Advertisement No. GSACS/2026-2027/1 for filling 1 vacant ART Counselor position at the ART Centre in General Hospital, Rajpipla (District Narmada, Gujarat). This is a contractual appointment under the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) programme. If you hold an MSW degree and want to make a real difference in HIV/AIDS patient care, this role gives you a chance to work directly in a government hospital setting.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Essential: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from a recognized university
• Preferred specialization: Medical and Psychiatric Social Work
• Alternative: Candidates with a degree in Sociology may also be considered

Other Requirements

• Computer knowledge is mandatory
• Relevant work experience in HIV/AIDS counseling or social work is preferred but not mandatory — freshers with MSW can apply

• Provide pre-test and post-test counseling to patients visiting the ART Centre for HIV testing and treatment
• Assist HIV-positive patients in understanding their diagnosis, coping with test results, and adhering to Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) medication
• Maintain confidential patient records, counseling registers, and ART Centre documentation as per NACO guidelines
• Follow up with patients who miss their scheduled visits or medication doses to ensure treatment continuity
• Conduct awareness sessions on HIV prevention, stigma reduction, and healthy living for patients, families, and the local community
• Work closely with the medical team at General Hospital Rajpipla to coordinate patient care and referral services
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on counseling activities, patient data, and programme outcomes for GSACS
