The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh has released an advertisement for 1 post of Project Research Scientist - I (Non-Medical) under the Department of Ophthalmology. This position is part of the extramural research project titled "Diagnosing Glaucoma and Predicting its Progression using Hybrid AI Model — A Multi-Centric Study", funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) with Project ID: IIRPSG-202401-06418. You will be working under the guidance of the principal investigator, Dr. Vinita Gupta.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• Post Graduate Degree (including integrated PG degrees) in Computer Science or Bio-Medical Science
• OR a 4-year Bachelor's degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in Biomedical Engineering / IT / Computer Science

Desirable Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science + Master's Degree in AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science
• B.Tech in Computer Science with experience in AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science
• B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering with understanding and experience in AI, Machine Learning, and Data Analysis

Note: Persons already in regular time-scale service under any Government Department or Organization are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years (as on the last date of receiving applications)
• Age relaxation for SC/ST and OBC candidates as per government rules

Salary

• Consolidated salary: Rs. 56,000 per month plus HRA as admissible
• A 5% increment is applicable in the 3rd year of the contract
• Salary is as per ICMR norms

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting — Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on desirable qualification criteria
2. Interview — Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview (in hybrid mode at the Department of Ophthalmology, AIIMS Rishikesh)
3. Written/Skill Test — The institute may also conduct a written or skill test if needed

• Develop and implement AI and machine learning models for diagnosing glaucoma from clinical ophthalmic data

• Assist clinicians and researchers in data collection, analysis, and interpretation of results
• Follow established research protocols and contribute to multi-centric study coordination
• Handle data processing, cleaning, and preparation using Python, Excel, and other tools
• Prepare research reports, presentations, and contribute to scientific publications
