DGFT Young Professional Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), through the Office of the Additional Director General of Foreign Trade (ADGFT), Coimbatore, is looking for a Young Professional to work on a contract basis. DGFT operates under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and is responsible for formulating and implementing India's Foreign Trade Policy. It issues Scrips and Authorisations to exporters and monitors their export obligations across a network of 24 regional offices. This is a one-year contract role that gives you a front-row seat in India's trade and export ecosystem.

Who Can Apply?

You need a postgraduate or professional degree in one of the following disciplines from a recognised university:

• Economics: Master's in Economics
• Law: Master's in Law or LLB
• Management/Business Administration: MBA from a recognised university
• Engineering: B.Tech or BE in Mechanical, Chemical, or IT/Computer Science, or MCA
• Commerce: Master's in Commerce

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 30 years as on the closing date of applications (30 April 2026)
• You should be in good health to carry out official duties effectively

Salary

• Consolidated pay of Rs. 56,000 per month (minus Professional Tax/TDS as applicable)
• No other allowances or facilities are provided beyond the consolidated fee
• TA/DA is admissible at par with the post of Foreign Trade Development Officer for official travel within India

Selection Process

Selection is based on merit. There is no written exam.

1. Document Verification: Educational qualification and other documents will be verified before engagement
2. Health Certificate: You may be asked to submit a statement of good health from a recognised physician before joining
3. Police Verification: A police verification report and medical-cum-fitness certificate are required before final engagement

• Assist in implementing Foreign Trade Policy and related procedures at the regional office
• Handle file processing, data entry, and maintenance of records related to export authorisations
• Support the Additional Director General in day-to-day administrative and operational work
• Prepare reports, notes, and correspondence on trade-related matters
• Maintain confidentiality of official data and information as per the Official Secrets Act, 1923
• Work regular office hours (9:15 AM to 5:45 PM) and be available for extended hours or weekend work when required
• Travel to any place in India on official duty when required
