NWDA Superintending Engineer (Civil) Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

National Water Development Agency (NWDA), under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, has issued a vacancy circular to fill 2 posts of Superintending Engineer (Civil) on deputation (including Short Term Contract) basis. NWDA is the apex body responsible for studies and surveys under the National Perspective Plan for Inter-Basin Water Transfer, and Superintending Engineers play a key role in driving these projects. This is a Group 'A' post classified under CCS/NWDA cadre. Applications are being accepted through proper official channel only.

Who Can Apply?

You must be an officer currently serving in Central Government / State Government / Public Sector Undertaking / Semi-Government / Statutory / Autonomous Organization / Engineering University / Research and Development Organization.

Service Condition (either of these):

• Holding an analogous post on a regular basis in your parent cadre/department, OR
• Having 5 years of regular service in the grade rendered after appointment in Level-11 (Rs. 67,700 – Rs. 2,08,700) or equivalent in the parent cadre/department

Essential Qualification and Experience:

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognised Institute/University
• At least 5 years of experience in applied research in the field of irrigation and water utilization and/or surveys, investigations, designs, construction, operation and maintenance of irrigation projects/works

Other Conditions:

• The deputation period (including Short Term Contract) including any preceding deputation in another ex-cadre post shall ordinarily not exceed 3 years
• Officers from non-Government organizations are eligible only for Short Term Contract
• Officers already on deputation must forward applications through parent cadre/department with Cadre Clearance, Vigilance Clearance, and Integrity Certificate

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 56 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications
• No minimum age restriction mentioned in the notification

Salary

• Pay Level: Level-12 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC
• Pay range: Rs. 78,800 to Rs. 2,09,200 per month
• Plus Dearness Allowance, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules

Selection Process

Selection is based on the following:

1. Screening of Applications: Applications forwarded through proper channel will be scrutinised by NWDA against the eligibility criteria
2. Assessment by Selection Committee: The Curriculum Vitae and documents related to Essential Qualification and Work Experience submitted by the applicant will be assessed by the Selection Committee
3. Document Verification: Final verification of all documents including CR Dossier (last 5 years' ACRs), Vigilance Clearance, Integrity Certificate, and penalty records

Note: There is no written examination for this post. Selection is through evaluation of service records and documents.

• Assist Chief Engineers and Director General in executing programs under the Peninsular and Himalayan Components of the National Perspective Plan
• Manage the unit under your charge and exercise administrative as well as financial control
• Provide technical guidelines for irrigation and water resource projects
• Scrutinise Water Balance study reports and Pre-Feasibility Reports (PFRs), Feasibility Reports (FRs), and Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of Inter-Basin Water Transfer (IBWT) links
• Monitor the programme and progress of concerned field Chief Engineers and field Superintending Engineers
• Organise meetings for disposal of technical works related to inter-linking of rivers (ILR) projects
• Coordinate with concerned State Governments to build consensus for implementation of ILR projects
