Age Limit

  • You should be over 18 years and below 42 years as on 3 August 2026 (the last date for applications).
  • Age Relaxation: Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/SEBC and others) get relaxation as per the Odisha District and Civil Courts' Judicial Staff Services Rules, 2008.

Salary

  • Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist & Junior Typist: Level-4, Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month.
  • Stenographer Grade-III: Level-7, Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month.
  • You will also get DA and other allowances as per Odisha State Government rules.

Selection Process

Selection is based on a written examination followed by skill/practical tests and a viva-voce:

  1. Written Examination: Papers in English, Arithmetic and General Knowledge (the English paper includes Odia-to-English and English-to-Odia translation).
  2. Typing / Shorthand Test: Typewriting test for Junior Typist; shorthand plus typewriting test for Stenographer Grade-III.
  3. Computer Science Test (Practical): 100 marks in 1 hour on document formatting, printing, file transfer and basic software use.
  4. Viva-Voce Test: 45 marks for Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist and 35 marks for Junior Typist and Stenographer.

The date of the written test will be intimated by post and put up on the District Court's website. You must submit a separate application for each cadre of post.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Passed +3 (graduation) or equivalent from a recognised University, plus a Diploma in Computer Application from a recognised institute. Must be able to read, write and speak Odia and pass an Odia test of Middle English (M.E.) standard.
