Who Can Apply?

Assistant Professor (Pay Level 10)

  • Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD) in the relevant subject
  • You must have cleared NET / SLET / SET, OR hold a Ph.D. awarded as per UGC 2009/2016 regulations

Associate Professor (Pay Level 13A)

  • A good academic record with a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline
  • Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories)
  • Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience as Assistant Professor, with at least 7 publications and a research score of 75 as per UGC norms

Professor (Pay Level 14)

  • An eminent scholar with a Ph.D., at least 10 research publications and a research score of 120 as per UGC norms
  • Minimum 10 years of teaching experience as Assistant/Associate/Professor with evidence of guiding doctoral candidates

Age Limit

  • Candidates above 60 years are not eligible to apply
  • The present superannuation (retirement) age for the University is 60 years
  • Age relaxation and reservation apply as per Government of Odisha norms

Salary

  • Assistant Professor: Pay Level 10 as per 7th CPC
  • Associate Professor: Pay Level 13A as per 7th CPC
  • Professor: Pay Level 14 as per 7th CPC
  • You also get DA, HRA and other allowances as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done as per UGC norms:

  1. Screening / Shortlisting: The University shortlists candidates based on academic record, qualification and experience higher than the minimum.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview before the UGC-prescribed selection committee. Final selection is based on interview performance.

The academic score from UGC Appendix II is used only for shortlisting, and the final selection is based on the interview.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Master's degree with 55% marks plus NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. (Assistant Professor); Ph.D. with teaching/research experience (Associate Professor and Professor) as per UGC norms

Preferred Qualification

Ph.D. in the relevant discipline; research publications in UGC-listed journals; higher academic score and teaching experience
