Doordarshan Kendra Chandigarh, under Prasar Bharati's Regional News Unit (RNU), is inviting applications for empanelment as Stringers / Cameramen across 23 districts of Haryana. You can apply as a proprietor, partnership firm, corporate body or organisation with experience in visual coverage. The last date to submit your application is 15 June 2026. You will be paid Rs. 1,500 per local coverage and Rs. 1,800+ per outstation coverage, including transportation and delivery.

Doordarshan Kendra Chandigarh Stringer Empanelment 2026

Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) Chandigarh, the Regional News Unit of Prasar Bharati covering Haryana, is building a fresh panel of stringers and cameramen for news coverage. Stringers are required in all 23 districts of Haryana — Ambala, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Gurugram, Hisar, Hansi, Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Mahendragarh, Nuh, Panchkula, Panipat, Palwal, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa, Sonipat and Yamunanagar. This is an empanelment drive, not a fixed-vacancy recruitment — DDK will select multiple stringers per district based on the existing guidelines of Directorate General, Doordarshan.

Who Can Apply?

• Eligible Applicants: Proprietor, partnership firm, corporate body or organisation with proven experience in visual coverage
• Qualification: Academic and technical qualifications in cinematography, videography, news gathering or broadcast journalism
• Experience: Demonstrated experience as cameraperson, videographer or newsperson — full details to be furnished in Annexure-A
• Equipment: You must own DVC-Pro / DV-CAM / CCD / Mini DV camera and supporting audio/lighting equipment. ENG equipment ownership is preferred
• Transport: Applicants with a four-wheel vehicle and mobile phone are preferred
• Note: Applicants who already applied vide advertisement dated 03.08.2021 at RNU Hisar need not apply again.

Stringer Fees

• Local Coverage (up to 6 hours): Rs. 1,500 per coverage (inclusive of transportation and delivery)
• If duration exceeds 6 hours or locations are more than 10 km apart, it is treated as two coverages — the 2nd coverage is paid Rs. 1,000
• Outstation Coverage (beyond geographic limit of Kendra town): Rs. 1,800+ per coverage, irrespective of footage length or usage, inclusive of all charges
• Fees are paid per coverage regardless of footage length or final usage on air.

Application Fee

• Processing Fee: Rs. 1,180 (including 18% GST)
• Payment Mode: Demand Draft in favour of Drawing & Disbursing Officer, Doordarshan Kendra, Chandigarh
• The fee is non-refundable

Selection Process

A 5-member Selection and Empanelment Committee will assess candidates in five stages:

1. Preliminary Scrutiny: Applications are screened to shortlist applicants based on qualification, experience and equipment ownership.
2. Test Coverage: Shortlisted applicants will be asked to provide two test coverages using their own equipment and raw material to demonstrate quality.
3. Interview: Personal interview to assess news sense and suitability.
4. Verification of Equipment and Documents: Physical inspection of cameras, audio gear, vehicle and original certificates.
5. Final Panel: Final list is drawn based on assessment score, interview and test coverage quality. Selected stringers will be required to sign a model contract.

Existing stringers in the current panel must also go through all five stages.

How to Apply

1. Download the application format (Annexure-A) and detailed guidelines from prasarbharati.gov.in, or collect them in person from the Head of News, RNU, Chandigarh on working days between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
2. Fill the application form in triplicate with academic qualifications, technical qualifications, experience, equipment details and corporate status.
3. Attach attested copies of certificates, proof of equipment ownership and experience documents.
4. Prepare a Demand Draft of Rs. 1,180 in favour of Drawing & Disbursing Officer, Doordarshan Kendra, Chandigarh.
5. Place the form, documents and DD in a sealed cover with superscription "Empanelment of Stringers of DD News".
6. Submit the sealed envelope on or before 15 June 2026 to: HEAD, REGIONAL NEWS UNIT, DOORDARSHAN KENDRA, SECTOR 37, NEAR BATRA CINEMA, CHANDIGARH-160036.

• Provide visual footage using DVC-Pro, DV-CAM, CCD or Mini DV camera
• Submit raw footage, dope sheet, press material and a written script for every coverage
• Respond promptly to assignments and deliver timely coverage to DDK Chandigarh
• Alert the RNU about major news events or stories of interest in your district
• Maintain technical quality — clear audio, stable video, proper luminance, focused frames
• Carry out all assigned work personally and avoid sub-contracting to others
