ICAR Young Professional-II Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, has invited applications for 1 Young Professional-II position at its Technical Coordination Division at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi. This is a purely time-bound, short-term contractual role co-terminus with the project/plan scheme. Selection is through interview only — no written exam.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• You must hold a graduate degree in any of these areas:
• Agricultural Sciences
• Engineering Technology
• Business Administration
• Statistics
• Humanities (includes Finance, Economics, Languages, Psychology — as per need)

Desirable Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word (document formatting, templates, mail-merge)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulae, pivot-tables, charts, data cleaning/sorting)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint (slide-master usage, animations, presentation design)
• Understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Good grasp of English (written) comprehension

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 21 years
• Maximum age: 45 years
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PH candidates as per Government rules

Salary

• Consolidated emoluments: Rs. 42,000 per month as per rules
• Income tax or any other tax will be deducted at source as per prevailing rules
• TA/DA admissible for official tours — AC-2 Tier / AC Chair Car train fare and DA at Rs. 1,500 per day
• Female YPs are entitled to maternity leave under the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act 2017

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on:

1. Screening of Applications: Only candidates having essential qualifications will be shortlisted
2. Interview: Eligible candidates will be informed of the date and time by email. The interview can be held online or offline
3. Document Verification: Original documents will be verified at the time of appointment

Preference will be given to candidates having experience in the relevant field. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

• Comply with the Standards of Conduct, IPR guidelines and Sexual Harassment Act 2013
