Prasar Bharati's Doordarshan Kendra Lucknow (DD UP) is building a Ready Panel of digital content creators for social media and website work. If you live in Lucknow District and have a background in digital marketing or social media, you can apply for Website Editor/Social Media or Website Assistant/Social Media Assistant roles. Work is assigned on an as-needed basis — up to 7 days per month. Pay is Rs. 3,000 per assignment (Editor) or Rs. 2,000 per assignment (Assistant). The last date to apply is 5 May 2026.

Doordarshan Uttar Pradesh (DD UP), under Prasar Bharati — India's Public Service Broadcaster — is creating a panel of creative digital talent to grow its online presence across platforms like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and Threads. The idea is to bridge DD UP's traditional television content with today's digital audience by promoting programmes ranging from news and agriculture to folk art and entertainment. This is an assignment-based (casual) engagement, not a permanent or regular government job. Who Can Apply?

For Website Editor / Social Media:

  • Essential: Graduation from a recognised university AND a Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Digital Marketing or Social Media AND 1 year of experience in website designing, digital marketing, or social media
  • Preferred: Certification in Website Designing

For Website Assistant / Social Media Assistant:

  • Essential: Class XII (12th pass) from a recognised board AND a Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Digital Marketing or Social Media
  • Preferred: 6 months of experience in website designing/digital marketing/social media AND Certification in Website Designing

Other Requirements:

  • Language: Proficiency in Hindi (written and spoken) and English is mandatory. Knowledge of local dialects like Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Braj, or Bundeli is a strong plus
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Unicode Hindi typing and tools like Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, CorelDraw, Photoshop, and Social Media Analytics
  • Domicile: You must be a resident of Lucknow District to be eligible

Selection Process

Selection is merit-based with no written exam. The process has these stages:

  1. Application Screening: A committee reviews submitted applications based on technical skills (video editing, graphic design) and cultural alignment with DD UP's broadcast values
  2. Skill Test / Audition (if required): Shortlisted candidates may be called for an audition or skill test. No TA/DA will be paid for this
  3. Empanelment: Successful candidates are placed on a Ready Panel for future assignment work. Panel status is reviewed periodically based on performance

There is no written examination. Work assignments are allocated on an as-needed basis after empanelment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop daily content calendars to promote DD UP flagship programmes across social platforms
  • Create posts, Reels, and short-form videos that connect with the culture and language of Uttar Pradesh
  • Provide live social media coverage for special events, state announcements, and breaking news
  • Engage with followers, respond to comments, and build a positive online community around the DD UP brand
  • Design simple graphics and edit short videos for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Threads
  • Monitor social media analytics and report performance insights to the team
  • Promote DD UP content in Hindi and regional dialects to reach wider audiences in Uttar Pradesh

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Class XII pass with Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Digital Marketing or Social Media (for Assistant post); Graduation with Digital Marketing/Social Media certification and 1 year experience (for Editor post)

Preferred Qualification

Certification in Website Designing; 6 months experience in digital marketing/social media (for Assistant post)

Required Skills
