DCPU Koderma Support Person (Sahayak Vyakti) Recruitment 2026

The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Koderma, through its District Child Protection Unit (Jila Bal Sanrakshan Ikaai), Social Security Cell (Child Protection), is creating a district-level panel of Support Persons. This is under the direction of the Secretary, Women, Child Development and Social Security Department, Ranchi, Jharkhand, as per departmental notifications dated 24.10.2024 and 15.01.2026. Support Persons help children who are victims of sexual offences by providing emotional and legal support throughout the court process under Section 39 of the POCSO Act. The number of Support Persons will be proportional to district POCSO cases in a 1:10 ratio.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

  • Post-Graduate in Arts, Commerce, Science, Law, Psychology, Social Work, Child Psychology (Bal Manovigyaan), or Local Language from a recognized university with at least 2 years of experience in a related field
  • OR Graduate in any faculty with at least 2 years of experience in a related field

Work Experience (Desirable)

  • At least 2 years of experience in child rights, child protection, legal/social work, child psychology, counselling, sociology, or psychology
  • OR at least 1 year of experience working with DLSA/JHALSA/DCPO/CWC/JJB/POCSO Court
  • Note: Only full-time experience certificates from relevant organizations will be accepted. Voluntary service certificates are not accepted.

Domicile

  • You must have a Jharkhand domicile — local residence certificate issued by Anchaladikari on or after 19.07.2019 (as per Personnel Department letter No. 5772 dated 19.07.2019)
  • Certificates issued before 02.06.2016 from any authority are not valid
  • Local candidates from Koderma district will get priority during panel formation

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 35 years
  • Maximum age: 60 years

Compensation

  • Per case fee: Maximum Rs. 5,000 per case
  • Payment is on a per-case basis, not a fixed monthly salary
  • Fees are paid as per Jharkhand Government notification No. 526/SP-POCSO/JSCPS/2023-24-525, dated 09.05.2025
  • Each Support Person handles cases in proportion to district case load at 1:10 ratio

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam. Selection is based on merit and interview.

  1. Shortlisting: Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be shortlisted by the Selection Committee
  2. Interview: The Selection Committee will assess your educational qualifications, work experience in child protection/juvenile justice, and your ability to work with children
  3. Panel Formation: Based on total marks, a panel of Support Persons will be recommended

Scoring System

  • Educational Qualification — 10 marks: Graduate = 6 marks, Post-Graduate = 3 marks, Other qualifications = 1 mark
  • Work Experience — 10 marks: You get 1 mark per year of relevant experience, up to a maximum of 10 marks
  • Interview — 30 marks maximum

Panel Details

  • The panel is valid for 3 years with annual performance review by the Selection Committee
  • If performance is unsatisfactory, the panel process will restart 2 months before expiry
  • Panel composition: 60% female and 40% male members. If female candidates are not available, male candidates can fill those spots
  • A criminal background check through the local police station is mandatory for all selected Support Persons
  • If any criminal case is found, the person will be removed and their privileges revoked

Responsibilities

  • Assist child victims of sexual offences throughout the investigation and trial process under the POCSO Act
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to the child and their family during court proceedings
  • Keep the child informed about the progress of the case in a child-friendly manner
  • Work with DLSA, CWC, JJB, and POCSO courts to ensure the child's rights are protected
  • Follow the guidelines and directions issued by the DCPO and Selection Committee for case handling
  • Manage case records and maintain strict confidentiality of all case details
  • Assist in coordinating healthcare, counselling, and rehabilitation services for the child victim
  • Prepare reports and provide updates to the District Child Protection Officer as required

Graduate or Post-Graduate in Arts/Commerce/Science/Law/Psychology/Social Work/Child Psychology (or Graduate in any stream with 2 years relevant experience)

Preferred Qualification

Post-Graduate degree with 1+ year experience in DLSA/JHALSA/DCPO/CWC/JJB/POCSO courts

Required Skills
