Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida is an autonomous institute under the Uttar Pradesh State Government, set up on the lines of SGPGI Lucknow. GIMS has invited online applications from Indian citizens for direct recruitment to 50 non-teaching posts of Laboratory Technician and OT Technician through a Computer Based Test (CBT) Examination 2026, vide Advertisement No. GIMS/2026/Manpower/NT/06 dated 10/04/2026. Selection will be through a CBT exam with negative marking — no interview is required. Note: The number of posts may increase or decrease as per government orders. Reservation benefits apply only to Uttar Pradesh residents.

Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: You must have passed Intermediate (12th) with Science from the UP Board of Secondary Education or any equivalent board recognised by the government.
• Technical Qualification: You also need a Diploma or Degree in a subject related to medical technology (Lab Technology for Lab Technician post / OT Technology for OT Technician post) from an institution recognised by the UP Medical Council or its equivalent.
• Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen.
• Domicile: Reservation benefits are available only to residents of Uttar Pradesh.

Age Limit

• You should be at least 21 years old and not more than 40 years old as on 01 July 2026.
• SC/ST/OBC (UP domicile): Up to 5 years relaxation as per UP Government rules.
• UP State Government employees with 3+ years of regular service: Up to 5 years relaxation.
• PwBD (40%+ disability): Up to 15 years relaxation (as per UP Government order dated 03 February 2008).
• Ex-Servicemen: Up to 3 years relaxation (after deducting military service from actual age, remaining should not exceed 3 years above the upper limit). Must be free from military service before the last date of application.
• Candidates dismissed from any government or state service are not eligible.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a pay scale of Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 per month (basic pay, equivalent to Level 5 under 7th CPC norms). The notification mentions the original UP state pay band of Rs. 2,800 - Rs. 29,200.
• You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other allowances as per UP State Government rules.
• The approximate gross salary including all allowances comes to around Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 55,000 per month initially.

• Unreserved (General): Rs. 1,100 + 18% GST = Rs. 1,298
• OBC / EWS: Rs. 1,100 + 18% GST = Rs. 1,298
• SC / ST: Rs. 800 + 18% GST = Rs. 944
• PwBD (all categories): No fee (Free)
• Horizontal reservation candidates (Ex-Servicemen, Freedom Fighter dependants, etc.) pay as per their base vertical category (UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS).
• Fee is non-refundable. Payment mode: Online only.

If you want to apply for both Lab Technician and OT Technician, you need to fill separate application forms and pay separate fees for each post.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by document verification:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective type (MCQ) exam conducted online. The exam has questions based on the post-specific syllabus — 80% from theoretical knowledge and 20% from practical/applied knowledge. Total duration is 120 minutes (2 hours). The CBT is divided into 4 sections. You can move to the next section only after completing the current one, and cannot go back to a previous section.
2. Merit List Preparation: Based on CBT scores, a merit list will be prepared keeping in mind category-wise proportional representation as per reservation rules.
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. No TA/DA will be paid for attending.
4. Medical Examination: Selected candidates will undergo a health fitness check as per institute rules.

4. Register yourself and create your login credentials.
5. Fill in the online application form with your personal, educational, and contact details.
6. Upload your photograph, signature, and required documents in the specified format.
7. Pay the application fee online.
8. Submit the form and take a printout for your records.

Only online applications will be accepted. No documents need to be sent by post. You can edit your application only once after final submission, but you cannot change your registered mobile number, email, and reservation category.
