CURAJ Research Associate Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ), Bandarsindri, Ajmer has released a notification for one Research Associate (RA) position in the DBT New Delhi-sponsored research project titled "Microalgae-Powered Biomanufacturing: A Carbon Capture Approach for Scalable Nutraceutical Aquafeed Production" (Project No. BT/PR58951/CCU/173/19/2025). The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project — initially for one year, extendable based on performance. Ph.D holders or candidates who have already submitted their thesis in relevant life science disciplines are eligible to apply.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

  • Ph.D. degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Life Sciences from a recognised university with research experience in Industrial Microbiology or Biotechnology
  • Candidates who have already submitted their Ph.D. thesis are also eligible to apply

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Prior experience in Industrial Microbiology, Industrial Biotechnology, or Bioprocess Development
  • Hands-on experience in Microalgae culturing and handling of sophisticated instruments like HPLC
  • Strong background in fermentative biomass in microalgae, biocatalysis, molecular biology, and biochemistry
  • Research publications in high-impact peer-reviewed international journals would be an added advantage

Fellowship / Salary

  • Fellowship: Rs. 58,000 per month (consolidated) as per DBT rules
  • Plus HRA (House Rent Allowance) as applicable under DBT norms
  • This is a project-funded position — pay is not from the University's regular pay matrix

Selection Process

Selection is based on merit. There is no written exam:

  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for interview. Candidates are informed by email or mobile only — no separate letter is issued. You must bring original certificates and one photocopy to the interview. No TA/DA is provided for attending the interview.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out research on microalgae culturing and biomass production for the DBT-funded project
  • Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory instruments including HPLC
  • Conduct experiments in biocatalysis, molecular biology, and biochemistry as directed
  • Develop and optimise bioprocess protocols for nutraceutical aquafeed production
  • Record experimental data and prepare progress reports for the Principal Investigator
  • Assist in writing research manuscripts and project reports for submission to DBT
  • Follow laboratory safety standards and maintain proper documentation of all work

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Ph.D. in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Life Sciences (or thesis submitted)

Preferred Qualification

Experience in Industrial Microbiology / Bioprocess Development; hands-on HPLC and microalgae culturing; publications in peer-reviewed journals
