Central University of Odisha (CUO), established under an Act of Parliament in 2009 and located in Koraput district, has announced a walk-in-interview to fill 4 Guest Faculty posts in the Department of Botany for the upcoming Monsoon Semester (2026-27). This is a purely temporary engagement for one semester, though it can be extended for a second semester if your performance is satisfactory. There is no written exam — you are selected purely on how you perform in the interview, which makes this a quick opportunity for NET/SET-qualified candidates and Ph.D. holders who want teaching experience at a central university.

Keep in mind that this is not a regular faculty position. The engagement can be ended without notice if your performance is found unsatisfactory, and it also ends automatically once a regular faculty member joins that post. You cannot claim any right to a permanent position on the strength of this engagement, and no TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in Botany or a concerned/relevant/allied subject from a recognised Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• Additional Requirement: Along with your Master's degree, you must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR, or hold a Ph.D., or have qualified an equivalent UGC-accredited test such as SLET/SET.
• Selection Basis: There is no written test — the university selects you purely on your performance in the walk-in interview.

Salary

• You get an honorarium of Rs. 1,500 per lecture, subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000 per month.
• Guest Faculty are not entitled to the allowances, pension, gratuity or leave that regular teachers get.
• No TA/DA is paid for attending the walk-in interview.

CUO selects Guest Faculty for Botany in a single stage:

1. Walk-in Interview: Your selection is based purely on how you perform in the interview — there is no separate written test or skill test.

3. Attach your original certificates, mark sheets and testimonials along with one set of photocopies.

5. Appear for the walk-in interview on 13 July 2026 at 10:30 AM.
