Central University of Odisha (CUO) was established under an Act of Parliament in 2009 and is located at Sunabeda, Koraput, Odisha. The university has released two notifications — both carrying the same reference number, CUO/Admn/EGF/116, dated 8 July 2026 — inviting candidates for Guest Faculty engagement in the Department of Economics and the Department of Anthropology for the Monsoon Semester (2026-27). Both walk-in interviews are on the same day, at the same venue — the Guest House, CUO Main Campus, NAD-Sunabeda, Koraput. Selection is based only on interview performance — there is no written exam. This is a good opportunity for NET/SLET/Ph.D. qualified candidates looking for a teaching engagement. Who Can Apply?

For Guest Faculty - Economics:

• You need a Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in Economics or a concerned/relevant/allied subject from a recognized Indian University, or an equivalent foreign degree.
• You must have cleared UGC-NET / CSIR-NET / SLET / SET, or hold a Ph.D.

For Guest Faculty - Anthropology (Archaeological / Social / Biological):

• You need a Master's degree in Anthropology with specialization in Archaeological Anthropology or Social/Biological Anthropology, with 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
• You must have cleared UGC-NET / CSIR-NET / SLET / SET, or hold a Ph.D.
• Make sure you apply for the specific specialization (Archaeological or Social/Biological) that matches your postgraduate degree.

Minimum qualifications for all posts follow the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers, 2018.

Salary

• You will be paid an honorarium of Rs. 1,500 per lecture, subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000 per month.
• Guest Faculty are not eligible for allowances, pension, gratuity or leave benefits given to regular teachers.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Walk-in Interview: Your selection depends only on your performance in the interview.

Your engagement is purely temporary for one semester, and may be extended for another semester if your performance is satisfactory. If a regular faculty member joins in the meantime, your engagement will end even without notice. You cannot claim any right to a permanent position under any circumstances.

3. Report to the Guest House, CUO Main Campus, NAD-Sunabeda, Koraput at 3:00 PM on 14 July 2026 for the Economics post, or 10:00 AM on 14 July 2026 for the Anthropology posts.
4. Bring all original certificates, mark sheets and testimonials for verification along with your photocopies.
