Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur (formerly Kanpur University) holds a NAAC A++ accreditation and runs multiple externally funded research projects. • Project Fellow (Position 1) — 1 post, 1-year duration, Rs. 10,000/month. Project: Understanding the impact of the gut microbiome on the pathophysiology of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Age: 26–30 years.

Who Can Apply?

Project Fellow (Position 1)

• Essential: M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Life Sciences with first division
• Desirable: Experience in DNA/RNA/Protein extraction and related molecular biology experiments
• Age: 26–30 years

Research Assistant (Position 2)

• Essential: M.Ed. with 55% marks
• Desirable: UGC-NET Qualified
• Age: 18–40 years

Research Assistant (Position 3)

• Essential: M.Ed. with 55% marks
• Desirable: UGC-NET Qualified
• Age: 18–40 years

Project Fellow (Position 4)

• Essential: Master's in Social Sciences / Humanities discipline with relevant background
• Desirable: NET/M.Phil/Ph.D.
• Age: 18–35 years

Candidates must bring a signed Bio-Data downloaded from the university website, all original documents, 1 set of self-attested photocopies, 1 recent passport-size photograph, and 55% marks certificate (as applicable) to the walk-in interview.

• Project Fellow (Position 1): 26–30 years

Age is calculated as on the date of the walk-in interview. No specific age relaxation is mentioned in the notification.

Salary

• Project Fellow (Position 1): Rs. 10,000 per month
• Research Assistant (Position 2): Rs. 8,000 per month

These positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the funding project. No right to regular employment is conferred by this engagement.

Selection Process

1. Walk-in Interview — Candidates appear directly; no written test. Bring all documents to the venue on the scheduled date and time.
2. Document Verification — Originals and self-attested copies checked at the interview venue.

Note: The engagement is entirely at the discretion of the project investigator and the availability of funds from the funding agency.

• Conduct laboratory experiments including DNA/RNA/Protein extraction and molecular biology procedures as directed by the project investigator (Position 1).
• Collect and analyse data for the assigned research project, maintaining accurate records of all findings.
• Assist in preparing project progress reports and research documentation for submission to the funding agency.
• Support field surveys, participant interviews, or data collection activities relevant to the project scope.
• Review relevant literature and contribute to drafting research manuscripts or conference presentations.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, consumables, and records in accordance with university protocols.
• Follow all terms and conditions of the UP R&D project funding scheme and CSJMU administrative guidelines.
