Nagaland University Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Nagaland University (a Central University established by an Act of Parliament, 1989) has advertised for the position of Project Assistant in its Department of Forestry. The role is under the ANRF Inclusivity Research Grant (IRG) Scheme project titled "Comparative Assessment of Emission Profiles in Biodiesel Blends from Indian and Nagaland Non-Edible Tree Species in Diesel Engines." You will work under the supervision of Dr. M. Mathiyazhagan, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Forestry. Selected candidates may be considered for admission to the Ph.D. programme at Nagaland University as per university norms — making this an excellent opportunity for those who want to pursue doctoral research.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: M.Sc. in Forestry, Botany, Biotechnology, or Environmental Sciences from a recognised university — OR — M.Tech in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university or equivalent.
• Research Background: Candidates with a thesis in a relevant area and any publications or conference presentations will have an advantage during shortlisting.

Salary

• Monthly stipend: Rs. 27,000 per month
• HRA: Rs. 2,700 per month
• Total in hand: Rs. 29,700 per month

Selection Process

1. Merit-based Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on academic merit and project requirements.

• Assist the Principal Investigator in conducting field and laboratory research on biodiesel blends from non-edible tree species
• Collect and analyse emission profile data from diesel engines using biodiesel blends
• Handle sample preparation, equipment handling, and experimental procedures as directed
• Maintain accurate records of experimental data, observations, and results
• Assist in preparation of research reports, publications, and project progress reports
• Participate in field trips for collection of non-edible tree species from Nagaland and other Indian regions
• Follow all safety protocols during laboratory and fieldwork activities
