CSIR-NEERI (National Environmental Engineering Research Institute) is hiring 2 Project Associate-I staff for its Delhi Regional Centre. CSIR-NEERI has released Advertisement No. RECRUIT_RC_1C_Delhi_21072026 to hire 2 Project Associate-I staff for the project "Inspection of Grossly Polluting Industries (GPIs) in River Ganga and Yamuna Basin" (GAP-3007), which covers a total of 131 industries. The selected candidates will be posted at CSIR-NEERI's Delhi Regional Centre (DRC) and will carry out field sampling and laboratory analysis of industrial water and wastewater. This is a walk-in recruitment with no online application — you just need to show up with your documents on the interview date.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry / Agricultural Chemistry & Soil Science / Microbiology / Environmental Science / Environmental Management from a recognized University.
• Job Requirement: You will need to do field visits to collect industrial water and wastewater samples, and analyze the collected samples in the lab.
• Only candidates who have already received their final result (with at least a provisional certificate) can apply — final-semester appeared or result-awaited candidates are not eligible.
• Note: Dissertation or thesis work done during your academic period will not be counted as work experience, and time spent acquiring a higher qualification will not be counted as experience over the essential qualification.

Age Limit

• You should not be older than 35 years as on the last date of receipt of applications.
• Age Relaxation: Available for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Women candidates as per government norms — mention your category and attach the relevant certificate with the application form.

Salary

• You get Rs. 31,000 per month plus HRA if you have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship) or GATE, or a national-level exam conducted by DBT/DST or similar central government agencies.
• If you don't hold any of the above qualifications, you get Rs. 25,000 per month plus HRA.
• Note: This is a purely temporary, project-linked engagement, co-terminus with the project. It does not confer any right to regularization in CSIR or CSIR-NEERI.

Contract Terms

• Your offer letter will be issued for the period for which project funds are available, and a review committee will assess your performance for possible extension, subject to fund availability.
• You will need to make your own arrangement for accommodation during your tenure, though HRA is admissible as per applicable rules.
• CSIR-NEERI can end your engagement anytime with 1 month's notice (or 1 month's pay in lieu). If you want to leave, you must also give 1 month's notice.
• You will need to sign an undertaking for confidentiality of project findings and any associated intellectual property.
• No TA will be paid for attending the interview since it is conducted offline.
• If you have already worked as project staff in CSIR-NEERI or any other CSIR laboratory, you can apply again, but you will need to appear fresh for the interview — no automatic upgradation to a new project is allowed. Your total tenure as CSIR project staff cannot exceed 5 years till date.
• If you are currently working under another CSIR project, your engagement in the new project will start only after your resignation from the previous project is accepted by the competent authority.

Since a large number of applications is expected for these posts, meeting the minimum qualification alone does not guarantee an interview call — CSIR-NEERI's Screening Committee may apply additional criteria to shortlist candidates for the walk-in interview.

Selection Process

Selection happens on a single walk-in day:

1. Document Verification: Bring original and one photocopy set of your passport-size photo, Aadhaar card, 10th (SSC), 12th (HSC), and Graduate and Postgraduate mark sheets and degree certificates.
2. Walk-in Interview: Eligible candidates are interviewed on the spot after document verification.

Merely meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call — if a large number of applications are received, CSIR-NEERI's Screening Committee will shortlist candidates.
