CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI) is a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. Headquartered in Nagpur, CSIR-NEERI is India's leading research institute for environmental engineering, pollution control and waste management studies. It has now opened 1 Project Assistant-II post at its Delhi Regional Centre (DRC) under the study "Cumulative Impact Assessment Study of the Notified Industrial Areas and Other Industrial Clusters in Firozabad District under TTZ Area (CNP-3033)", which looks at pollution levels around industrial clusters inside the Taj Trapezium Zone (TTZ). There is no written exam for this post — selection is based purely on an online interview. If you enjoy fieldwork and data analysis around environmental studies, this is a good short-term opportunity to gain hands-on research experience at a premier CSIR lab.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a B.Sc. degree or a 3-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology from a recognized university or institute.
• Job Role: Your work will involve collecting, compiling and analysing field data, writing reports, and visiting industrial sites for air pollution surveys as required by the project.
• Important: Only candidates whose final result has already been declared (at least a provisional certificate) can apply. If your final semester result is still awaited, you are not eligible right now.

Terms of the Engagement

• This post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project — it will end when the project ends and does not carry any right to regularization against a CSIR/CSIR-NEERI post.
• Either side can end the engagement with one month's notice (or one month's pay in lieu of notice).
• A review committee assesses performance and recommends extension of your tenure, subject to availability of project funds.

Age Limit

• You should be 35 years or younger as on the last date of receipt of applications (20 July 2026).
• No separate age relaxation categories are listed for this project post.

Salary

• You will get Rs. 20,000 per month plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) for this position.
• Your pay goes up by 15% after you complete 3 years of experience in the same project.
• You will need to arrange your own accommodation, but HRA is paid as per applicable rules.
