The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Madras Complex has invited applications for a walk-in interview to engage 2 Junior Research Fellows for the project "Technology for Optical Identification of Plastic Polymers" (GAP-03145), tenable at the CSIR-CEERI Chennai Centre, Taramani, Chennai. There is no online application — eligible candidates need to walk in with a filled application form and original certificates. Candidates may also be required to take a written test before the interview, if the panel decides it is necessary.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: B.E./B.Tech with GATE/NET in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science Engineering, OR M.E./M.Tech in the same fields or allied specializations.
• Desirable Skills: NIR spectroscopy, optical instrumentation, computer vision, image processing, machine learning, Python programming, embedded systems, electronic hardware development, and prototype realisation.
• Freshers are eligible only if they can produce at least a provisional certificate or a consolidated mark sheet.

Age Limit

• As on 21 July 2026 (the date of the walk-in interview), your age should not exceed 28 years.
• Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST, PwBD, and women candidates; up to 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a stipend of Rs. 37,000 per month plus 30% HRA.
• The position is initially for 6 months and may be extended for the duration of the project.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process

The selection process includes:

1. Written Test (if required): Candidates may be asked to take a written test before the walk-in interview.
2. Walk-in Interview: Held on 21 July 2026 at 9:30 AM at CSIR Madras Complex, Chennai. Candidates arriving after the stipulated time will not be entertained.
3. Document Verification: Bring original and attested copies of certificates for Qualification, Age, and Community (for SC/ST/OBC).
