CSIR-Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CEERI), Pilani has released Advertisement No. PF-06/2026 for the engagement of Project Staff across 8 different sponsored research projects — covering areas like 5G antenna design, medical devices, AI-based digital restoration, energy harvesting tiles, and semiconductor switches. Vacancy Breakdown by Project

Note: If a suitable JRF or Senior PAT candidate is not found for a project, the institute may hire a Project Associate-I/II or PAT-I/II instead.

Who Can Apply?

For JRF Positions (Post Codes 3394, 3401):

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech (or M.E./M.Tech) in Electronics, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, or related engineering discipline, with a valid GATE or CSIR-UGC NET score (or equivalent national-level test conducted by DST, DBT, DAE, DRDO, IITs, etc.)

For Project Associate-I / II and PAT Positions:

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech, Master's, or equivalent degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, or related fields. Some posts need 2-3 years of R&D experience (see table above for post-specific details).

For Project Assistant Positions (Post Code 3396):

• Project Assistant-I: SSC/10th plus ITI in Electronics or equivalent, with soldering and assembly skills
• Project Assistant-II: B.Sc./BCA/3-year diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer with programming skills

These are project-sponsored positions and do not confer any right to a permanent post in CSIR-CEERI/CSIR.

Age Limit

• For JRF posts, you should be up to 30 years old as on the last date of application.
• For Project Associate-I/II and PAT posts, the age limit is up to 35 years.
• For Senior PAT, the age limit is up to 40 years.
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, Third Gender candidates, and women; 3 years for OBC.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated monthly salary between Rs. 18,000 and Rs. 42,000 depending on the post and qualification (see the vacancy table above for exact figures per project).
• HRA will also be paid as per CSIR guidelines and subject to fund availability in the project.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done in these stages:

1. Application Screening: A Standing Screening Committee shortlists candidates based on project-specific criteria.
2. Online Interview: Shortlisted candidates are interviewed via Microsoft Teams; you will be added as a guest through a link sent to your registered email.

Tenure and Other Conditions

Each engagement starts with a tenure of six months, which can be extended in steps of six months based on satisfactory performance and project duration. The total tenure across all CSIR project-staff roles (Project Associate-I/II, Senior PAT, JRF, SRF, Project Assistant-I/II) cannot exceed six years, whether served at CSIR-CEERI or any other CSIR lab. Note that these are project-sponsored engagements, not regular CSIR-CEERI posts, so they do not create any right to a permanent position at the institute.

If you are a Ph.D. scholar under AcSIR without an existing fellowship, you can also apply, provided your research area matches the project and you have prior written permission from your supervisor, the Project Investigator, and the Director. Selected candidates are also considered for a panel for future project engagements based on their interview performance, even if not selected for the current opening.
