CRPF Sports Quota Recruitment 2026: Overview

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is recruiting sportspersons as Head Constable and Constable (General Duty). These are Group C, non-gazetted and non-ministerial posts, described as temporary but likely to become permanent. The sports quota connects competitive sport with service in a combat force, so you should consider both sides of the appointment.

Posts and Disciplines

• Head Constable (General Duty): The notice covers men’s and women’s sports entries at this rank. Entries are allocated by sport and event, and some events are available only for a particular gender or rank.
• Constable (General Duty): This rank also covers men’s and women’s sports entries. Check the event corresponding to your own sporting record before choosing the post.
• Team sports: The schedule includes football, basketball, hockey, handball, kabaddi and volleyball. Some entries identify playing positions, such as goalkeeper, defender or forward.
• Individual and other disciplines: The notice also includes athletics, aquatics, archery, badminton, bodybuilding, boxing, gymnastics, judo, karate, shooting, taekwondo, water sports, weightlifting, wushu, wrestling and yoga. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Posting liability: You may be required to serve anywhere in India or abroad. Appointment is governed by the CRPF Act and Rules, and joining, training and seniority follow the force’s rules.
• Service bond: The notice requires a minimum 3-year commitment to promote sport in the force. The bond amount is Rs. 1,00,000; Annexure B sets out repayment and interest conditions if you leave in the circumstances it describes.
• Sporting performance: CRPF will monitor your performance for at least 2 years. You must take part in the tournaments, games and meets of your appointed discipline; falling below the required standard during that period can lead to termination.
• Combat duties: If age, illness, injury or other factors reduce sporting performance, sports personnel may be sent to a general-duty battalion for combat duties anywhere in India.
• Travel and stay: CRPF will not provide travel allowance, accommodation or meals for recruitment. Plan and pay for your own stay of at least a week at the venue.
• Application limit: You may apply for only one post and send only one online application. Multiple applications can result in cancellation of all your applications.
• Official communication: Keep your email address and mobile number active. Recruitment updates are published on the CRPF recruitment website, and admit cards are not sent by post.
