Chandigarh Administration Executive Engineer (Civil) Recruitment 2026 - 3 Posts

The Office of the Chief Engineer, Engineering Department, Union Territory, Chandigarh has issued a vacancy circular for filling up 3 posts of Executive Engineer (Civil) in the B&R Wing (2 vacant + 1 anticipated) on deputation (including short-term contract) basis. The initial period of deputation is one year, extendable up to three years. No written exam — eligibility is decided through document scrutiny based on the notified Recruitment Rules dated 27.11.2017 (as amended on 20.04.2022).

Who Can Apply?

This is a deputation-only post. You must be a serving officer in any of the following:

• Central Government / State Governments / Union Territory Administrations
• Public Sector Undertakings
• Recognised Universities / Research Institutions
• Autonomous Bodies / Statutory Organisations

Service Criteria (any one)

• Holding an analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
• 5 years' service in the grade after regular appointment in a post in Pay Band-3 of Rs. 15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs. 6,600 or equivalent

Essential Qualification & Experience

• Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University or Institute, or Associate Member of Institute of Engineering (AMIE) in Civil Engineering
• Experience: Minimum 10 years in the relevant field of Engineering in Government Sector

Desirable

• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University or Institute

Note: Candidates with AMIE Degree from a recognised University/Institute who were enrolled for AMIE up to 31.05.2013 are also eligible.

Age Limit

• Maximum age for appointment by deputation: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications
• The crucial date for determining eligibility is 26 April 2026 (excluding the first date of publication in Employment News)

Salary

• Pay Scale: Level-11 of 7th CPC (Rs. 67,700 - Rs. 2,08,700)
• Plus DA, HRA, deputation allowance and other allowances as per Central Government rules
• Period of deputation: 1 year (extendable up to 3 years)

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Application Scrutiny: The Engineering Department reviews each application against the notified Recruitment Rules
2. Document Verification: ACRs/APARs for the last 5 years, vigilance clearance, integrity certificate and cadre clearance are verified
3. Selection by Borrowing Department: Final selection is made by the Engineering Department, UT Chandigarh based on suitability and ACR grading

Incomplete applications and those without supporting certificates will be rejected forthwith. Candidates already on deputation must route applications through their parent cadre.

• Plan, design and execute civil engineering works in the B&R Wing of UT Chandigarh
• Supervise construction, maintenance and repair of government buildings, roads and public infrastructure
• Prepare estimates, technical sanctions, tender documents and award contracts as per CPWD norms
• Monitor quality control, material testing and progress of works at site
• Process measurement books, running bills and final payments to contractors
• Coordinate with junior engineers, sub-divisional officers and contractors for timely delivery of projects
• Maintain service records, prepare ACR reports for subordinates and ensure compliance with Government rules
