Army Public School (APS), Danapur Cantt, Patna, Bihar has invited applications for 59 vacancies across PGT, TGT, PRT, Pre-Primary Teachers and Non-Teaching Academic & Administrative Staff. The school is run under Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) and is affiliated to CBSE. This is an adhoc appointment for teaching posts, while some non-teaching positions are on fixed-term contracts of 4 years. Both fresh candidates and experienced teachers can apply based on their age group.

Who Can Apply?

For PGT (Classes IX-XII):

• Education: Post-Graduation in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks
• Professional: B.Ed from an NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks
• OST Score Card and CTET/TET are preferred but not mandatory for Adhoc appointments

For TGT (Classes VI-X):

• Education: Graduation in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks
• Professional: B.Ed from an NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks
• CTET/TET: Pass in CTET/TET conducted by CBSE/State Government (qualifying marks 60% is mandatory)
• Proficiency in teaching in English and Hindi medium
• Knowledge of Computer Application

For PRT (Classes I-V):

• Education: Graduation with at least 50% marks
• Professional: B.El.Ed or 2-year D.El.Ed from NCTE recognized institution
• CTET/TET: Pass in CTET/TET conducted by CBSE/State Government
• Proficiency in teaching in English and Hindi medium
• Knowledge of Computer Application

For Pre-Primary Teachers:

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science/IT, B.Ed, CTET/TET as applicable
• Qualifying marks 60% in CTET/TET is mandatory
• Proficiency in teaching in English medium

For Non-Teaching Staff:

• LDC: Graduation with computer literacy
• Paramedics: Relevant medical/paramedical qualification
• Assistant Librarian: Degree in Library Science
• Science Lab Attendant: Relevant science qualification
• Computer Lab Technician: Diploma/Degree in Computer Science/IT
• IT Supervisor: Relevant IT qualification

Age Limit

Age as on 1st April 2026:

Army Spouses (With Experience):

• Below 40 years: No teaching experience required
• 40 to 55 years: Minimum 5 years cumulative teaching experience needed

Others (Non-Army Spouses):

• Below 40 years: Fresh candidates with no teaching experience can apply
• 40 to 55 years: Minimum 5 years teaching experience in the last 10 years needed

Note: For PGT category, the candidate should have worked as PGT/TGT. Experience gained as PRT will not be counted for PGT appointment.

Salary

• Salary is as per AWES guidelines under the 7th Central Pay Commission
• PGT: Basic pay starting from approximately Rs. 47,600 per month
• TGT: Basic pay starting from approximately Rs. 44,900 per month
• PRT: Basic pay starting from approximately Rs. 35,400 per month
• Plus DA, HRA, Transport Allowance and other benefits as per AWES norms

• All candidates: Rs. 250 (non-refundable)
• Payment mode: Bank Draft drawn in favour of Army Public School Danapur Cantt, payable at Danapur Cantt

Selection Process

Selection will be done through the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on application and eligibility criteria
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview
3. Teaching Skill Test: Evaluation of teaching skills and methodology
4. Computer Proficiency Test: To test computer knowledge
5. Written Test (Language Teachers only): For PGT and TGT Language Teachers, a written test to assess written expression

Note: Passing the Online Screening Test (OST) is not mandatory for appearing in the interview. However, OST-qualified candidates will be preferred.
