Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (KHS) Agra, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released Advertisement No. 02/2026 for direct recruitment to 9 academic cadre posts. The posts are spread across the Headquarters in Agra and eight centres in Delhi, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Shillong, Mysuru, Dimapur, Bhubaneswar and Ahmedabad. All posts are All India cadre — you may be posted at any centre. Who Can Apply?

For Professor (Education) — Level 14

  • Eligibility A: Ph.D. in Education or related discipline with 10 research publications in peer-reviewed/UGC journals + research score of 120 as per UGC Regulations 2018 + 10 years of teaching/research experience at university level with evidence of guiding doctoral candidates.
  • Eligibility B: Outstanding professional with Ph.D. in the relevant discipline from industry/academic institutions with 10 years' experience and significant contribution supported by documentary evidence.
  • Qualification: As per NCTE Regulation 2014 &/or 2019 read with UGC Regulations 2018.

For Associate Professor (Linguistics / Hindi Lit) — Level 13A

  • Good academic record with Ph.D. in the concerned discipline.
  • Master's Degree with at least 55% marks.
  • Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience at university level.
  • At least 7 publications in peer-reviewed/UGC journals with research score of 75 as per UGC Regulations 2018.

For Assistant Professor (Linguistics / Hindi Lit / Education) — Level 10

  • Eligibility A: Master's Degree with 55% marks in Education or relevant subject + NET/SLET/SET qualification. Ph.D. holders under certain conditions may be exempted from NET.
  • Eligibility B: Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 (QS/THE/ARWU).
  • For Education discipline: M.Ed./M.A. in Education with 55% marks + NET/SLET/SET is also acceptable.

All posts are All India cadre. You may be posted or transferred to any KHS office or centre across the country.

Age Limit

  • Age limit is as on 4 May 2026.
  • As per UGC norms — no specific age bar is mentioned for Professor and Associate Professor posts.
  • Relaxation in qualifying marks for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates as per UGC/Government of India guidelines.

Salary

  • Professor (Level 14): Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200 per month (entry pay Rs. 1,44,200)
  • Associate Professor (Level 13A): Rs. 1,31,400 to Rs. 2,17,100 per month (entry pay Rs. 1,31,400)
  • Assistant Professor (Level 10): Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400 per month (entry pay Rs. 57,700)
  • Plus DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through the following stages:

  1. Scrutiny of Applications: Your application will be screened against the shortlisting criteria and syllabus published on the KHS website.
  2. OMR-Based Written Exam (MCQs): Only for Assistant Professor (Level 10) posts, and only if the number of applications exceeds 15. If fewer than 15 apply, KHS may skip the exam and call candidates directly for interview.
  3. Assessment Criteria: Video Presentation, Assessment of Research Aptitude and Writing Skills, and PPT presentation to evaluate your academic abilities.
  4. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates at 5x vacancies will be called for document verification.
  5. Face-to-Face Interview: Shortlisted candidates at 3x vacancies after document verification will be called for interview.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned subjects in Hindi, Linguistics or Education as per the approved curriculum
  • Prepare course materials, lesson plans and question papers for Hindi language programmes
  • Evaluate student assignments, dissertations and examinations
  • Guide research scholars and supervise doctoral candidates
  • Conduct research in Hindi language, literature and education and publish in academic journals
  • Participate in seminars, workshops and conferences organised by KHS and other institutions
  • Assist in curriculum development and academic administration of the institute
  • Contribute to Hindi promotion programmes across India and internationally

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Master's Degree with 55% marks + NET/SLET/SET (Assistant Professor); Ph.D. with 8 years experience (Associate Professor); Ph.D. with 10 years experience + 120 research score (Professor). As per UGC Regulations 2018.

Preferred Qualification

Research degree in concerned subject, published research work, knowledge of methodology of language teaching, knowledge of online teaching and basic computer applications, teaching experience in concerned subject

Shortlisting: 5x candidates per post will be called for document verification. After verification, 3x candidates per post will be called for the face-to-face interview.
