APPSC is hiring 389 Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) across 14 subjects for government secondary schools in Arunachal Pradesh. If you hold a Bachelor's degree (Second Class) with a B.Ed (General), you can apply online. APPSC Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) Recruitment 2026 — 389 Posts
The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released Advertisement No. 02/2026 dated 23 March 2026 for 389 Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) posts under the Education Department, Government of Arunachal Pradesh. The recruitment covers 14 subjects from English and Hindi to Physics, Chemistry, and Agriculture. Out of the total posts, 305 are reserved for APST (Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe) candidates. On 31 March 2026, APPSC also issued a clarification: B.Ed Final Semester students are eligible to apply, subject to submitting their Final Semester Marksheet and B.Ed Pass Certificate at the time of document verification. All posts are Group-B (Non-Gazetted) permanent positions.

Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You need a minimum Second-Class Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce from a recognized university. The class/division on your Degree Certificate or Provisional Certificate as specified by your university will be the basis for determining Second Class eligibility.
- Subject Requirement: You must have studied the concerned TGT subject in all years or semesters of your Bachelor's Degree. The final year/final semester marksheet must contain the name and marks of that subject.
- B.Ed Requirement: You must hold a B.Ed (General) degree from an NCTE-recognized institute. Only General B.Ed is accepted — B.Ed (Special Education) is not valid for TGT (Secondary) posts.
- B.Ed Final Semester Students: If you are in the final semester of your B.Ed programme, you can apply. Bring your Final Semester Marksheet and B.Ed Pass Certificate at the time of document verification.
- B.Ed Duration: The B.Ed must be a minimum 2-year programme (including mandatory school internship). If you completed B.Ed before 2015, a 1-year course is also accepted.
- Integrated Degree: If you completed a 4-Year Integrated Degree Programme with B.Ed (General) included, you are eligible — subject to the subject-specific requirements above.
- Important Restriction: Final year or final semester students of Bachelor's Degree are not eligible. Also, you can apply for only one TGT subject post.
Age Limit
- You should be between 21 and 35 years as on 27 April 2026 (the last date of application).
- General Category Relaxation: One-time upper age relaxation for candidates born on or after 01/01/1989, as per Arunachal Pradesh Govt. notification dated 21 April 2025.
- APST Relaxation: One-time upper age relaxation for APST candidates born on or after 01/01/1984, as per the same notification.
- PwBD & Govt. Servants: Age concession as per Arunachal Pradesh Government rules in force.
- Age Proof: Only your Matriculation Certificate issued by a recognized Board is accepted as age proof. No other documents (horoscope, birth extract, affidavit) will be accepted.
Salary
- Selected TGT candidates will get a salary of Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month under Pay Matrix Level 7 (7th CPC).
- Entry-level basic pay is Rs. 44,900 per month.
- You will also receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) and other allowances as per Arunachal Pradesh Government rules.

Selection Process
Selection happens in 2 stages:
- Written Examination (Objective) — 450 marks: Two papers. Paper 1 covers General English, General Studies, Aptitude, and Pedagogy for 150 marks. Paper 2 covers your chosen TGT subject for 300 marks. There is negative marking of 1/6th for each wrong answer. To qualify for the interview, you need at least 33% aggregate across both papers, with a minimum of 20% in each paper. For PwBD candidates, the qualifying threshold is 20% aggregate and 10% in each paper.
- Viva-voce and Classroom Teaching — 50 marks: About 3 times the number of vacancies will be called for the interview (per category/post). Document verification happens before the viva-voce stage.

- Register for One Time Registration (OTR) if you are a new user. Existing OTR users can log in directly with their user ID and password.
- Fill in the online application form for TGT (Secondary Level) Examination 2026.
- Upload your passport-size photograph (40-100 KB, JPG, white background, no headgear) and signature (40-50 KB, JPG, black ink on white paper).
- Upload a self-attested copy of your photo ID (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, or Driving License).
- Pay the application fee online — Rs. 150 for APST, Rs. 200 for others.
- Submit the application before 27 April 2026 at 1:00 PM. Save a printout for your records.
Note: Submit only one application. If you accidentally submit multiple, only the one with the highest Registration ID (RID) will be considered.

Responsibilities
- Teach the assigned subject to students of Classes IX to XII in government secondary schools across Arunachal Pradesh
- Prepare lesson plans, study materials, and question papers aligned with the state curriculum
- Evaluate student assignments, conduct periodic assessments, and maintain progress records
- Assist in organizing school events, co-curricular activities, and parent-teacher meetings
- Follow the academic calendar and guidelines set by the Education Department, Government of Arunachal Pradesh
- Manage classroom discipline and create an engaging learning environment for all students
- Monitor student attendance and report irregularities to the school administration
- Participate in professional development programmes and training workshops organized by the department

Exam Pattern
APPSC TGT Exam Pattern 2026
Your exam has 3 components worth a total of 500 marks:
- Paper 1 — General English, General Studies, Aptitude and Pedagogy: 150 marks (Objective). Tests your general knowledge, teaching aptitude, and English language skills.
- Paper 2 — Concerned Subject: 300 marks (Objective). You answer questions from your chosen TGT subject — Agriculture, Biology, Business Administration, Accountancy, Chemistry, Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, or Political Science.
- Paper 3 — Viva-voce and Classroom Teaching: 50 marks. Conducted by APPSC after you clear the written exam. About 3 times the vacancies per category will be called.
Negative Marking: 1/6th of marks deducted for each wrong answer. Do not guess blindly.
Qualifying Marks (General/APST): Minimum 33% aggregate in Papers 1 and 2 combined, with at least 20% in each paper.
Qualifying Marks (PwBD): Minimum 20% aggregate in both papers combined, with at least 10% in each paper.
Exam Centres: Itanagar, Naharlagun, Doimukh/Nirjuli, Namsai, Pasighat, and Ziro.
