About This Job

APGENCO is hiring 100 Assistant Executive Engineers (AEE) across the Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics and Civil branches. If you have a B.E./B.Tech/A.M.I.E. in the right engineering branch, you can apply online before 20 July 2026. You get a fixed Rs. 75,000 per month during the 2-year probation, and the regular pay scale goes up to Rs. 2,08,915 per month after that. Age limit is 18 to 42 years, and selection is through a Computer Based Test (CBT) with no interview and no negative marking.

Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGENCO) is the largest power generating company in Andhra Pradesh, with an installed capacity of over 6,389 MW across thermal, hydel and solar stations. It has released its 2026 notification for 100 Assistant Executive Engineer posts spread over 6 zones of the state. You are selected purely on your CBT score — there is no interview. This is a strong opening for fresh engineering graduates, as no work experience is needed to apply. Under the reservation rules, 33⅓% of posts are reserved for women and 4% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.

The Electrical and Civil branch posts are filled through a Common Recruitment Examination shared with APTRANSCO, APEPDCL, APCPDCL and APSPDCL, while Mechanical and Electronics branch posts have a separate APGENCO exam. The vacancies are provisional and may go up or down.

Who Can Apply?

You need a B.E./B.Tech/A.M.I.E. (or an equivalent qualification) from a University recognised by UGC and AICTE, held as on the date of the notification. The exact branch depends on the post you choose:

AEE (Electrical)

  • Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent

AEE (Mechanical)

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

AEE (Electronics)

  • Degree in Electronics and Communication / Instrumentation and Control / Electronics and Instrumentation / Power Electronics / Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent

AEE (Civil)

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

Degrees earned in distance mode from study centres of universities outside Andhra Pradesh are not accepted. Local and non-local status is decided under the AP Presidential Order, so keep your study or residence certificates ready.

Age Limit

  • You must be between 18 and 42 years old as on 01 July 2026.
  • SC / ST / BC / EWS: the upper age limit is 47 years.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): the upper age limit is 52 years.

Salary

  • During the 2-year probation, you get a consolidated Rs. 75,000 per month.
  • After probation, you move to the regular time scale of Rs. 86,245 to Rs. 2,08,915 per month (RPS-2022).
  • You also get a Project Allowance of Rs. 19,550 to Rs. 31,580, Shift Allowance (Rs. 5,410), Conveyance Allowance (Rs. 1,375), Hotline Allowance (Rs. 42,110) and a Performance Linked Generation Allowance.
  • Extra benefits include departmental quarters, hospital facilities and a DAV school at the generating stations.

Selection Process (No Interview)

Selection happens in two steps:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): An online objective test of 100 marks for 3 hours, held between 22 and 29 August 2026. There is no negative marking, and marks are normalised across shifts.
  2. Certificate Verification: Candidates are called in a 1:1 ratio against the vacancies, based on CBT merit, to check original documents.

You must also score the minimum qualifying marks: 40% for OC/EWS, 35% for BC and 30% for SC/ST/PwBD. The CBT is held in many cities across Andhra Pradesh and a few in Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Odisha.

For the Electrical and Civil posts, candidates who clear the common exam are allotted to APGENCO, APTRANSCO, APEPDCL, APCPDCL or APSPDCL based on merit, reservation and the preferences you fill in your application, so choose your utility and zone preferences carefully.

How to Apply

  1. Go to apgenco.gov.in or the common recruitment portal apvidyutrecruitment.apcfss.in.
  2. Register using your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and verify the OTP.
  3. Log in and fill the online application with your education and personal details.
  4. Upload your photo, signature and the required certificates.
  5. Pay the Rs. 1,000 fee online and note down your Journal Number.
  6. Submit the form before 20 July 2026 (11:59 PM) and save a printout.

Certificates must be uploaded before the last date, otherwise your Hall Ticket will not be generated. Selected candidates sign a service bond to work with APGENCO for at least 5 years after probation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain generating units, switchyards and plant equipment at thermal, hydel or solar stations
  • Monitor power generation parameters and keep the plant running safely and efficiently
  • Plan and supervise repair, overhaul and preventive maintenance work
  • Handle breakdowns and restore supply quickly during faults
  • Prepare technical reports, duty logs and maintenance records
  • Follow electrical safety codes and environmental rules at the station
  • Guide technicians and coordinate with other departments for smooth operations

Exam Pattern

The Computer Based Test (CBT) carries 100 marks and you get 3 hours to finish it. The paper is in English only and there is no negative marking.

Marks Distribution

  • Core Engineering (your branch): 70 marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 8 marks
  • General Awareness: 7 marks
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: 5 marks
  • English Language and Comprehension: 5 marks
  • Computer Knowledge: 5 marks

Minimum qualifying marks: 40% for OC/EWS, 35% for BC, and 30% for SC/ST/PwBD.

Note: If the exam runs in multiple shifts, your marks are normalised. The CBT is held across many cities in Andhra Pradesh and a few centres in Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Odisha.
