Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU), Guntur has released a recruitment notification (No. ANU/Estt-TS/Advertisement/BJC/2026) for 4 posts in the Centre for Babu Jagjivan Ram Chair. These posts are sanctioned by the Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation, New Delhi and are filled on a contract or deputation basis for one year or co-terminus with the chair, whichever is earlier. Candidates from SC, ST, BC and other socially and economically weaker sections may be preferred as per the Foundation's guidelines.

Who Can Apply?

Professor

• You need a Ph.D. in Social Sciences with high-quality published work, at least 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a research score of 120 (as per UGC Appendix II, Table 2).
• You also need at least 10 years of teaching experience as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor (or equivalent research experience) with proof of having guided a doctoral candidate.
• Alternatively, an outstanding professional with a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline and 10 years of experience can apply. Work on Babu Jagjivan Ram or Dalit Studies is desirable.

Research Officer / Assistant Professor

• You need a Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in Social Sciences from an Indian university or an accredited foreign university.
• You must have cleared NET/SLET/SET conducted by UGC or CSIR, or hold a Ph.D. awarded as per UGC 2009/2016 regulations (which exempts you from NET).

Stenographer (Grade C)

• You need a university degree plus a pass in Type Writing and Shorthand (Higher Grade) with DCA from a government-recognised institution.
• Candidates with Telugu Type Writing or computer training will be preferred.

Peon (Office Subordinate)

• You need to have passed Class 7 (VII Class).

Salary

• Professor: Rs. 37,400 - 67,000 + Grade Pay Rs. 10,000
• Research Officer: Rs. 15,600 - 39,100 + Grade Pay Rs. 5,400
• Stenographer (Grade C): Rs. 9,300 - 34,800 + Grade Pay Rs. 4,200
• Peon: Rs. 5,200 - 20,200 + Grade Pay Rs. 1,800
• You will also get DA and other allowances as per University rules.

• Research Officer: OC Rs. 1,500 | SC/ST/BC Rs. 1,000
• Stenographer (Grade C): OC Rs. 1,000 | SC/ST/BC Rs. 500
• Peon: OC Rs. 500 | SC/ST/BC Rs. 300
• Pay the fee by demand draft from any nationalised bank, drawn in favour of the Registrar, Acharya Nagarjuna University.

Selection Process

Selection is based on an interview:

1. Short-listing: For the Professor and Research Officer posts, candidates are short-listed for the interview based on their academic score (as per UGC Appendix II tables).
2. Interview: The final selection is based only on your performance in the interview.
