Anna University Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Anna University (Department of Chemical Engineering, A.C. Tech Campus) has released advertisement Proceedings No. 8511/CSRC-2/2026 (CMRG Project No: CMRG251021) for the post of Project Assistant. The position is under the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Research Grant (CMRG) project titled "Absorption of oil from marine Water by Enhancing the performance of Sustainable Fibres Wastes Obtained from Municipal Solid Waste", sanctioned by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Government of Tamil Nadu. Preference will be given to M.Tech / M.Sc candidates. The appointment is purely temporary and merit-based.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification (Option 1): B.Tech in Chemical Engineering and allied fields.
• Qualification (Option 2): M.Sc in Chemistry and allied fields.
• Preference: M.Tech / M.Sc candidates will be given preference over B.Tech candidates.

Salary

• You will get a salary of Rs. 25,000 per month.
• This is a fixed amount under the CMRG project budget.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on shortlisting and an interview:

1. Application Screening: All applications will be reviewed against the eligibility criteria.
2. Shortlisting: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates must appear with original certificates. The date and time will be informed by email.
4. Document Verification: Originals will be checked at the time of interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

• Assist the Principal Investigator in research on absorption of oil from marine water using sustainable fibre wastes
• Handle laboratory experiments on processing and characterising fibre wastes from municipal solid waste
• Prepare and test sustainable fibre composites for oil-water separation performance
• Operate analytical instruments and record experimental data accurately
• Maintain laboratory records, project files, and research notebooks
• Prepare progress reports, charts, and data summaries for the CMRG project
• Support paper writing and assist with publication-ready figures and tables
