AIIMS Jodhpur Biochemistry Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur is hiring a small team for a task-force research project in its Department of Biochemistry. The study is a multicentric, observational cross-sectional study among children and adolescents, so most of the work involves screening young participants, collecting blood samples and recording data. It is led by Dr. Mithu Banerjee, Professor and Head of Biochemistry, with an Additional Professor of Biochemistry as the second investigator. All three roles are project jobs on a fixed tenure, filled through a walk-in interview.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist I (Medical): the medical role in the team, meant for an MBBS doctor who has finished internship.
• Project Technical Support: laboratory and field support for DMLT/MLT or BSc MLT holders with hands-on experience; ICMR, DST, CSIR or DBT project experience is an advantage.
• Project Nurse Grade-III: a nursing role for BSc Nursing graduates with experience in paediatrics, neonatology and labour room care; earlier work as a paediatric nurse in a health project or government-funded research project is preferred.

Post-wise Duties

Project Research Scientist I (Medical)

You need excellent communication skills and a good command of the local language, Marwari, because you will be talking to children and their families while recruiting and assessing participants for the study.

Project Technical Support

You will screen participants or help with screening, make sure blood is collected correctly from child participants, and handle data entry. You will also collect and transport blood samples, look after inventory, quality control and left-over samples, prepare project reports from time to time and travel for community recruitment and sample collection.

Project Nurse Grade-III

You should know basic neonatal and paediatric care, including care during resuscitation. You will take histories, recruit participants after screening, do clinical examinations and record the data. Regular travel to the community for recruitment and sample collection is part of the job.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: Each post runs for 12 months or until the project ends, whichever comes first. The job is temporary and co-terminus with the project, and gives no claim to a permanent AIIMS Jodhpur job or a place in another project.
• Consolidated pay: The pay is a fixed consolidated sum plus HRA as admissible, with no other benefits; the exact figure depends on your experience, qualifications and skills.
• Possible test: An entrance test may be held if more than 10 candidates turn up in any category.
• Local language: Candidates who speak Marwari and have worked in a similar field are encouraged to apply.
• Experience: Only experience gained after the minimum qualification counts, and all qualifications must be full-time from a recognised board or university.
• Post naming: The vacancy table and duties list call the technical post Project Technical Support-II, while the interview schedule lists it as Project Technical Support-I; check the notice before you go.
• Number of posts: The principal investigator may increase or reduce the posts as needed.
• Other rules: Government and PSU employees must bring a No Objection Certificate, no TA/DA is paid for the interview, and canvassing leads to disqualification.

The Project Research Scientist and Technical Support interviews are on 22 October 2026, and the Project Nurse interview is on 23 October 2026. Reporting opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 10:00 AM; late arrivals are not interviewed.
