Agra Anganwadi Worker and Helper Recruitment 2026 - 708 Posts
The Office of the District Programme Officer, Agra (Bal Vikas Seva Evam Pushtahar Vibhag, Uttar Pradesh) has opened direct recruitment for 708 vacant Anganwadi posts spread across 16 child development projects in Agra district, covering both city and village areas. This is a strong chance for local women who want to work close to home in their own ward or gram sabha. Remember, these are honorarium-based posts under the ICDS programme, not regular pay-scale government jobs. The whole process is online at upanganwadibharti.in, and no paper or postal form will be accepted.
An Anganwadi centre is the ground-level unit of the ICDS scheme. It looks after the health, nutrition and early learning of children below 6 years, and supports pregnant women and new mothers in the area. As an Anganwadi Worker you become the face of this centre in your own neighbourhood, which is why only local resident women are picked for these posts. Once selected, you usually serve the same centre for many years.
