Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Limited (AEGCL) Consultant for Environmental Safeguard Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Limited (AEGCL) has invited applications to engage one Consultant for Environmental Safeguard on a contractual basis. The role is for the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) funded Assam Intra-State Transmission System Enhancement Project (AISTSEP). This project aims to strengthen power transmission capacity, improve access to grid electricity, and enhance the efficiency and quality of power supply in Assam. AEGCL acts as the Implementing Agency for the day-to-day work.

The engagement is for 4 years and can be extended by 2 more years or until the project ends, whichever is later, subject to your performance. You will handle environmental monitoring, safeguard compliance, and site supervision across the project's transmission works. This is a single-post, contractual role — a good fit for an experienced environment professional who has worked on externally aided infrastructure projects.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Master's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Forestry, or Environment Management. An additional Diploma in Health & Safety is preferable.
• Experience: At least 5 years in the relevant field, including experience in power sector projects. You must have worked in at least one Externally Aided Project (EAP). Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) experience is preferable.
• Computer skills: You should know MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, GIS, and Google Earth.
• Language: Fluent in English. Knowledge of the local language is preferred.

Age Limit

• You should be between 25 and 50 years old as on 1 June 2026.

Salary

• You will get a fixed consolidated salary of Rs. 60,000 per month.
• An annual increment of 5% over the last salary drawn may be given on completion of each year.

• Handle the Grievance Redressal Mechanism and address grievances in line with AIIB policy
• Coordinate on transmission line right-of-way issues with the project team and contractors
