Atal Bihari Vajpayee-Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM), Gwalior has released Advertisement No. 01/2026 for Institute Post Doctoral Fellow (IPDF) and Externally Funded Post Doctoral Fellow (EFPDF) positions. This is a research-focused fellowship for Indian nationals who can work full-time at the institute and contribute to high-quality research output. Who Can Apply?
Core Qualification
- Nationality: You must be an Indian national.
- Doctorate: You need a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate degree, such as D.Sc., in a relevant discipline from a recognised institute or university.

Research and Institute Background
- CFTI / ranked university link: At least one degree from graduation onward, or regular pay-scale or guest faculty work experience, should be from a CFTI such as IISc, IIT, IIIT, NIT, IIM, ISI or IISER, or from a foreign university with QS rank 500 or better.
- Publications: You need at least 3 SCI/SSCI/SCIE publications, including at least 1 publication in a Q1 journal as per the latest JCR list.
- ABV-IIITM Ph.D. condition: If you completed your Ph.D. from ABV-IIITM Gwalior, you can apply only after 1 year from Ph.D. viva-voce approval.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 35 years at the time of submitting the application form.
- You should apply within 5 years from the Ph.D. award date, counted from the defence date.
- The closing date for checking age, qualification and experience is 15 July 2026.
Fellowship and Benefits
- Post-Ph.D. experience below 1 year: Rs. 60,000 per month
- Post-Ph.D. experience 1 year to below 2 years: Rs. 65,000 per month
- Post-Ph.D. experience 2 years or more: Rs. 70,000 per month
- Contingency grant: Rs. 30,000 per year for consumables, conferences and publication-related expenses, based on mentor recommendation.
- Accommodation: Institute accommodation may be provided against licence fee and other charges, subject to availability. If accommodation is not available, HRA applies as per Government of India norms.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)
There is no written exam in the ABV-IIITM PDF notification. Selection is based on research profile, screening, technical interaction and interview.
- Application Screening: The institute may shortlist applications based on qualifications, research output, area of expertise and experience higher than the minimum requirement.
- Technical Presentation and Interview: Shortlisted candidates have to attend a presentation and interview before the Selection Committee. Overseas candidates may be interviewed online.
- Document Verification: Original certificates and valid photo ID must be produced at the time of technical presentation and interview.
- Medical Fitness: Final joining is subject to being found physically fit and sound in health by the institute medical authority.

Responsibilities
- Carry out full-time research work in the selected ABV-IIITM department
- Prepare and submit high-quality manuscripts for SCI, SSCI or SCIE indexed journals
- Assist mentors in writing externally funded project proposals
- Support tutorial classes, laboratory work, seminars and symposia within the weekly academic workload
- Co-guide B.Tech and M.Tech students with mentor and institute approval
- Follow institute research rules, publication targets and reporting requirements
- Maintain research records, publication drafts and project documents properly

Minimum Qualification
Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in a relevant discipline with first class at Bachelor's and Master's level; thesis-submitted candidates may apply but must produce Ph.D. award certificate before joining
Preferred Qualification
At least one degree or regular pay-scale/guest faculty work experience from CFTIs such as IISc/IITs/IIITs/NITs/IIMs/ISI/IISERs, or a foreign university with QS rank 500 or better
