The 130 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Ecological, Kumaon has announced a recruitment rally for 69 Soldier vacancies in 10 different trades, from Soldier (General Duty) to tradesman roles. This is an ecological (Eco) Territorial Army unit, so enrolment is open only to retired defence personnel and retired women staff of the Forest Department. Soldier (General Duty) is open only to Uttarakhand residents, while all tradesman posts are open on an All India basis. Enrolled personnel serve about 8 months in a year.

Soldier (General Duty) is for Uttarakhand residents only. All other tradesman posts are open on an All India basis.

Who Can Apply?

• You must be an Ex-Serviceman (pension holder only), OR
• An ex-women employee (including premature retiree with at least 20 years of service) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) or the State Forest Department, Uttarakhand.
• Medical Category: You must be in SHAPE-1 medical category.
• Character: Your character must be graded Exemplary or Very Good.
• Ex-Servicemen must enrol within 5 years from the date of retirement or discharge.

Age Limit

• No minimum age for Ex-Servicemen, but you must enrol within 5 years from your date of retirement or discharge.
• No minimum age for ex-women Forest Department employees, with the same 5-year enrolment condition.
• Personnel enrolled as Other Rank serve up to 50 years of age; ex-JCOs and Class-II staff can serve up to 55 years.

Physical Standards

For Male Candidates:

• Height: 160 cm (152 cm for Gorkhas and Garhwalis)
• Weight: Minimum 50 kg
• Chest: 82 cm with minimum 5 cm expansion

For Ex-Women Forest Employees:

• Height: 150 cm
• Weight: Minimum 42 kg
• Chest: Should be able to expand by 5 cm

Salary

• You will get the basic pay of your rank and service group plus Dearness Allowance.
• Other allowances such as Children Education Allowance, Hill Compensatory Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and Road Mileage Allowance are also paid.
• Annual increment and gratuity are not payable to Ex-Servicemen and ex-women employees. Embodied service is about 8 months in a year.

Selection Process

The rally will be held over these days at Devkatiya Ground, Pithoragarh:

1. Document Verification (3 Aug 2026): Bring all required original documents.
2. Physical Test (4 Aug 2026): Height, weight, and chest measurements are checked.
3. Medical Test and Interview (5-8 Aug 2026): Candidates selected in the physical test go for the medical test and interview.
