Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Master's Degree: You need a Master's degree in English or a relevant / allied subject with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
• NET / SLET / SET: You should have qualified NET conducted by UGC, CSIR or an equivalent accredited test such as SLET / SET.
• PhD exemption: Candidates with PhD as per applicable UGC regulations can get exemption from NET / SLET / SET where the rules allow it.
• MP SET note: The notice says candidates who passed the Madhya Pradesh SET are eligible as per the stated condition.

Other Conditions

• Nationality: Indian citizens and candidates from categories recognised under the Constitution of India can apply as per the notice.
• Documents: You must be able to prove education, age, category, domicile, PwD status and other claims during verification.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 21 years.
• Maximum age: 40 years.
• Age will be counted as on 01 January 2026.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through an OMR-based written exam, followed by interview and document verification. The notice states that negative marking will apply in the written exam.

1. Written Exam: Objective OMR-based exam for advertised Assistant Professor posts. The detailed exam plan and syllabus will be released separately on the MPPSC website.
2. Shortlisting for Interview: Candidates up to three times the advertised vacancies, and candidates with equal marks, may be called for interview.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates must attend the interview with required documents.
