Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) released Advt. No. 19/2025 dated 30 December 2025 for Assistant Professor Commerce posts. This is a permanent gazetted second-class teaching post in the Higher Education Department. The exam is scheduled for 2 August 2026, and admit cards are listed for release from 23 July 2026 on the MPPSC website.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Commerce qualification: You need a Master's degree in Commerce or a related/relevant subject with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognised Indian university or an equivalent foreign university.
• NET/SET requirement: You must have cleared UGC NET, CSIR NET, or SET/SLET. MP SET-qualified candidates are valid for Madhya Pradesh posts; other-state SET/SLET qualifications are not treated as valid for these posts.
• PhD exemption: PhD holders can get exemption from NET/SET if the PhD meets the applicable UGC regulations mentioned in the notification.
• Marks relaxation: Eligible SC, ST, OBC, PwD and other notified categories can get 5% relaxation at postgraduate level as per rules.
• Domicile note: Reservation and age relaxation benefits are for Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates. Candidates from other states are treated as Unreserved for reservation purposes.

Age Limit

• You must have completed 21 years.
• You must not have completed 40 years.
• Age is calculated as on 01 January 2026.
• Age relaxation: SC, ST, OBC, PwD, women, government employees and other notified MP categories get relaxation as per Madhya Pradesh Government rules. Total age after relaxations cannot exceed 45 years.

Salary

• Entry pay: Rs. 57,700 per month
• Pay level: UGC Academic Level 10
• Post status: Permanent, gazetted second-class post
• Allowances: DA, HRA and other allowances will apply as per Madhya Pradesh Government and UGC pay rules.

Application Fee

• SC / ST / OBC non-creamy layer / EWS / PwD candidates of Madhya Pradesh: Rs. 250
• All other candidates, including non-MP candidates: Rs. 500

• Correction fee: Rs. 50 per correction session where correction is allowed.

Selection Process

The selection will be completed through written exam, interview and document verification.

1. Written Exam: The notification confirms an offline OMR-based objective exam with negative marking. The detailed exam plan and syllabus will be published separately on mppsc.mp.gov.in.
2. Shortlisting for Interview: Based on written exam marks, MPPSC can call candidates up to three times the advertised vacancies, including candidates with equal marks at the cutoff.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates must attend the interview. If you are absent from the interview, you will not be considered for final selection.
4. Document Verification: MPPSC will verify qualification, NET/SET or PhD proof, age proof, domicile and category certificates before appointment.
5. Final Merit: Final selection will be prepared from written exam and interview marks.

6. Pay the fee online and check that the payment status shows Payment Done.
7. Submit the form before 26 June 2026 and keep a printout for interview/document verification.
