Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri, one of Maharashtra's four state agricultural universities, has released a notification for the recruitment of Assistant Professors in Soil Science and Agricultural Botany at the Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Dhule. This is a purely contractual engagement for the academic year 2026-27 — fix-pay basis with no claim to permanent absorption. The college, located on Parola Road in Dhule, has been a key constituent college of MPKV since 1968.

Who Can Apply?

For Assistant Professor (Soil Science)

• You must have a Ph.D. in Soil Science / Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry from a recognised university, OR
• A Master's degree (M.Sc. Agri.) in Soil Science with NET qualification prescribed by the UGC/ICAR

For Assistant Professor (Agricultural Botany)

• You must have a Ph.D. in Agricultural Botany from a recognised university, OR
• A Master's degree (M.Sc. Agri.) in Agricultural Botany with NET qualification prescribed by the UGC/ICAR

Candidates from any state can apply, but the place of posting will be Dhule, Maharashtra.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 38 years as on the date of advertisement
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates; 3 years for DT/NT/OBC and other reserved categories as per Maharashtra Government rules
• Upper age limit is not applicable to those already working in contractual posts at MPKV

Salary

• Fixed pay of Rs. 45,000 per month for Ph.D./NET qualified candidates
• Rs. 25,000 per month for M.Sc. candidates (without NET, where applicable)
• No additional allowances; this is a fix-pay contractual engagement

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on:

1. Document Verification: Scrutiny of educational qualifications, NET certificate, experience, and publications
2. Personal Interview / Walk-in Interview: Conducted by the Selection Committee at the College of Agriculture, Dhule
3. Final Merit: Based on academic record and interview performance

There is no written examination for this contractual recruitment.
