RITES Limited (RITES) Assistant Manager (Mechanical) Recruitment 2026 - 24 Posts

RITES Limited (RITES), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has released a notification (Vacancy Code RG/11/26) for 24 Assistant Manager (Mechanical) posts on a regular basis. RITES is a well-known multi-disciplinary consultancy that works on transport, infrastructure, and related technology projects across India and abroad. Of the 24 vacancies, 12 are for UR, 5 for SC, 4 for ST, 2 for EWS, and 1 for OBC (NCL) candidates, and 1 post is reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) on a horizontal basis. The entire application process is online, and both fresh graduates with relevant experience and working professionals in the mechanical engineering field can apply. Selected candidates will be on probation for 1 year from the date of joining, and confirmation of your service will depend on your performance and on verification of your certificates and documents.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a full-time Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology (or Production, Production & Industrial, Manufacturing, Railways, or Mechatronics & Automobile Engineering, or any combination of these) from an institute recognized by AICTE.
• Experience: You must have at least 2 years of post-qualification outdoor work experience in production, mechanical maintenance, or other mechanical engineering areas, gained at a project site, factory, or plant.
• Note: Training, internship, teaching, academic work, fellowship, or PhD research experience will not be counted towards this 2-year experience requirement.

For PwBD Applicants:

• The 1 PwBD-reserved post under this recruitment is open to candidates with locomotor disability (categories such as OA, OL, OAL, BL, Leprosy Cured, and Acid Attack Victims) who meet the functional classifications of sitting, standing, walking, seeing, hearing/speaking, and related physical requirements for the Mechanical discipline.
• RITES follows a priority order for this PwBD-reserved post: first preference goes to candidates with the specific disability type listed above, second preference to candidates with any disability type that still meets the job's physical requirements, and the vacancy is filled from other categories only if no suitable PwBD candidate is available.
• Candidates belonging to the identified PwBD categories can also apply even against posts not specifically reserved for them, and will be considered on general merit.

Age Limit

• You should be up to 32 years old as on 17 August 2026 (the cut-off date for age and experience).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC (NCL) candidates get 3 years, Ex-Servicemen get their years of service plus 3 years, and candidates with J&K Domicile get 5 years.
• PwBD: Persons with Benchmark Disabilities get an additional 10 years of age relaxation (on top of any SC/ST/OBC-NCL relaxation) for posts identified suitable for PwBD candidates.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary in the pay scale of Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 1,40,000 per month.
• This is one of the more attractive pay scales among PSU engineering jobs, reflecting RITES' Navratna status.

Selection Process

Your selection will happen in 3 stages:

1. Written Test: 125 objective-type questions for 125 marks, to be completed in 2.5 hours. There is no negative marking. You need at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD candidates against reserved posts) to move ahead. PwBD candidates get 50 extra minutes.
2. Document Scrutiny: Based on your written test score and the number of vacancies, RITES will check the documents you upload before calling you for an interview.
3. Interview: You will be called in a ratio of 1:6 against the vacancies. The written test carries 60% weightage and the interview carries 40% weightage (30% for technical and professional knowledge, 10% for personality and communication). You need at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD candidates) in the interview to be placed on the panel.

After the interview, you must also clear a Medical Examination as per RITES' fitness standards before joining. You can choose to appear for the written test and interview in either Hindi or English. Depending on operational requirements, RITES may conduct the written test or interview (or both) at its Regional Offices — you will be informed of the exact venue through your call letter.
